Have any of these rides opened yet? What kind of changes were made to "it's a Small World". Is the ride Soarin any good? I believe Soarin is located at EPCOT.

Thanks All!

I'm also interested to know what changes have been made to IASW. For all we know, with all these political correctness every doll will look exactly identical with no ethnic difference whatsoever.

Pretty funny! I'm not in to the Political correctness crap either. Anyway, I think IASW was down for a few years. Hopefully, they made some great improvements.

IASW has reopened and other than the initial entry not many people have noticed any real changes. Also Soarin is located in Epcot. Until May 5th it is in soft opening. Meaning it may or may not be operating on a given day. Also, they may or may not limit who can ride it. As of May 5th it will be open regularly.

IASW has reopened and while the loading area is quite different, the attraction itself is still pretty much the same thing. What we did notice is that everything seems to have a nice new coat of paint and looks very clean and bright.

Soarin' is over in the Land pavillion in Epcot. We tried to get a chance to ride it during our trip last week but didn't get a chance for one reason or another. We did, however, get a chance to watch Light, Motors, Action stunt show over at MGM.

Have fun!!!

I think small world was only closed for a little under a year. This is a thread on it and somewhere I saw new pics of it but I can't remember.

Sounds like everything is just shiny and new looking now. Just a refurb, no big changes.

There were a few threads on Soarin'- everyone seemed to like it a lot and recommended being in the front (or top, can't remember) car... something about being able to see the bottom of the screen or people's feet in other rows.

Ah yes, here is the thread with the pics of small world:

Nothing looks all that different.

And I found this media release back when it first closed:
"When "it's a small world" reopens, some of the features will be:
-state-of-the-art digital sound capturing the original stereo soundtrack guests heard in 1964 when the attraction was a hit at the World's Fair in New York;
-refurbished characters and sets indoors;
-a redesigned entrance area featuring enhanced accessibility and more stroller parking.

I had the opportunity to ride soaring last week and it was incredible. I have an intense fear of heights and despite having a deathlock on the handrails (there is no bar in front of you like I had anticipated!! :earseek: ), sweaty palms, and my heart in my throat throughout most of the ride, I LOVED IT!!!! It is so realistic, you really do feel like you are flying, it is awesome!! I just wish I could have been more relaxed in order to enjoy it even more. Hmmmm....I think I need more practice! :teeth:

I rode it last Tuesday and I did ask the CM if there would be anymore trials of the ride and she said not until May 5th. I was by myself on Tuesday and I really wanted my family to experience the ride when we all returned to the park on Thursday, but they were only having CM previews that day. My DD12 wanted to ride so desperately, she was asking around if they were hiring. :rotfl:
