Last night we had a family meeting and suprised the kids with yet another trip to the World in only one month from now.
After years of travel to all kinds of exotic places (I'm a TA in my spare time), we finally tried a Disney trip in February 2009 for 5 days off property and then a Disney Cruise. This was with extended family (12 of us). Our family of four loved it so much, we booked 4 more days at AKL and went immediately from the ship back to WDW!
Last September, we suprised the kids by driving over 2200km from the Toronto area to Orlando, we managed to keep them distracted from where we actually were thinking that we were going to a wedding. We arrived one night early so we stayed at an off property hotel for the night. Things were ALMOST ruined by some kids talking about Disney World in the pool. I yanked our kids out and back up to the room... I was NOT a popular dad at that point. The next day, we got in the car I setup a movie and got them preped for what they thought would be another long day in the car. 10 minutes later as we pulled off the freeway onto the access road, we said... "Hey Kids, What's that up ahead!?" The entrance to the park! They freaked and we have it all on video. 11 nights between AKL, Saratoga and Poly with a suprise visit from their grandparents halfway through.
So 18 days of Disney is probably enough in a year right? NOPE... We're booked for 10 more days in mid-April at Saratoga and Wilderness Lodge. We're flying this time, but of course there has to be a suprise, we're joined halfway through the trip by their other grandparents and my youngest brother (11) as they come off a cruise.
I think we are now officially Disney-aholics!
