My dh has very little interest in planning our trip and isn't too thrilled about going to WDW...I've been working to plan things I know he'll like and be interested in with the hope that we will help him find the magic...well, I think I hit pay dirt today!!! Joey likes to buy pins on our vacations--he usually buys a hat and then covers it with pins from the trip (we have ones from Alaska and Niagara Falls)...so I mention that not only is pin collecting great at Disney but that trading is common and he might meet people in line or around the park who would enjoy trading. I guess that was all I needed to say all this time...he's been on ebay all morning buying himself pins. He keeps talking about all the ones he wants to get and how addictive it could be...And we don't go until November. So I snuck in a comment that it's a great hobby that is great if you go more than once every five years (which is the schedule he envisions now)...All I know is that I got my anti-Disney dh excited about Disney and that is the best Mother's Day gift I could have ever asked for!
Now I just need to find out about pin trading in the parks...are ther any good webistes or threads on here I should check out?

You can Pin trade with any CM except the ones with green lanyards they are reserved for for trading with kids. In some places there are tables set up for people to display their pins and trade this happens a lot at DTD and i think also at Epcot.

That's great! Hooray for you! I really love the pins too. I do more collecting than trading. Some of the resorts have scheduled days for pin trading. I think POR does on Wednesday afternoon and it seems like ASMo maybe does on Friday evening. Check the resorts board to ask about which ones have pin trading times.

OMG! This thread just turned the light bulb on above my head!! I know my DD (10) will have fun at WDW but I think maybe she has grown out of the characters & getting their autographs. I wonder if she would like pin trading?

Thanks! Great idea!! :teacher:

Congradulations!! Who knows he may come to love Disney more than you. Wouldn't that be something? :flower:

Have your DH go to this link: http://eventservices.disney.go.com/pintrading/index

It should really get him excited about pin trading and give him lots of info.

My husband, who barely tolerates Disney for the sake of the family and probably never owned a pin in his life, really got into this last year. I was amazed, but happy. He selected a theme (pins relating to music) and was chasing down every CM that came in sight to look at their pins.
