its a boy, name suggestions please....

Congratulations!

We went with family names for our son, James (husband's grandfather) and Arthur (my grandfather).

If we had had another boy, his first name would probably had been Clifford (my dad) or Henry (I just like the name) with probably Patrick or Jerome (both my husband's father's names) as a middle name.

We named our son Benjamin Duane, we "just liked" the first name and the middle name is my DH's and his Dad's too, plus when our son had his son, they gave him Duane as his middle name too so we have four generations with Duane as a middle name!! :teeth:

When we were expecting our second child, if she had been a boy her name would have been Blake Edward.

Our daughter and her husband are hoping for a baby in the near future and have chosen Wyatt Joseph if they have a son.

I also like the name Garrett for a boy.

I think it really depends if you like common names or names that a little unusal or less popular.

Remember tho, the more popular the name, the more chance of having duplicates or more in the same class when he gets to school

When I found out I was having boys I went with names that were not popular at the time, but are increasing in popularity now.

The names I chose were Jadyn Myles & Lachlan Brodie

I also like the name Elijah for a boy.

Congratulations & all the best

My friend had a little boy last year called Finley Ellis, that has grown on me.

Congratulations! I have four boys. There names are:

Andrew Michael- Drew for short

Nicholas Tyler- Nick

Joshua Ryan- Josh

Alexander Matthew- Alex

I also love the name Jackson and Duncan.

:earsboy:

This is a great thread! Now I know what names to stay away from (popular) if we should ever have a boy. :)

DH and I do have 2 names in mind, but I am going to be selfish and not share! ;) :D

Both DDs would have been Kevin Patrick had either of them been boys. I love the name Patrick, but can't stand the name Pat for a boy. I've had too many Aunt Pat's, I guess!

As you can see by my name I have 4 boys too and it looks like we like a lot of the same names, lol. My boys are:

Michael Robert
Matthew Ryan
Evan Nicholas
Connor David

Congrats! Boys are sooooooooo much fun!

DH's name is Jude and I love that name, but when the time came, Jude Junior just sounded funny.

We named DS Shane but also liked Andrew. We really liked Brendan but shied away from it when everybody we told thought we were saying Brandon.

Well. well, you have a Kellen!!!!
About 14 years ago a friends sister named her son Kellen William. I saw the baby and said ok, whats the name? She told me and I said after she left, UUUgh how awful what was she thinking!!!!!

Fast forward ten years, found out I was having a boy, Wanted to name him Colin, DH nixed that because Colin was an old boyfriend. Suddenly I remebered Kellen, and now I loved it........ Go Figure! Signed him up for preschool and low and behold there were 2! Kellen C, ( mine) and Kellan C. Weird never seen it again until you! It's a great name!

twinmomplus2new,

I had never heard the name when we named our son that almost 3 years ago! I didnt really like it either when my DH said he had found our DS's name. Now I love it! I have run into 2 Kellens since he was born, one was 14 and the other was 5. Both of them spelled it Kellan. I havent seen another Kellen until you!

I have always like the name Andrew Joseph. However, I have two beautiful dd's and have never had the opportunity to use it.

We like Disney so much we named our son "Walt!" Nah...that's just a good story getting better. Our son is Walter Kelly....but we call him Walt. Walter is after his great uncle and great grandfather, both of whom have passed away, and Kelly is after his GGGgrandfather who was an illustrious relative so we wanted to keep the name alive.

Personally, I love old-fashioned names (DD is Abigail) since they never go out of style and you can't pinpoint the year the kids were born! But I prefer to have some type of family connection, even if distant. So my advice would be to go over your family tree and see if there are any names there that appeal to you...it's nice to have a name with a little history behind it.

Congratulations and all my best to you and your family!!

Katie

We really liked Brendan but shied away from it when everybody we told thought we were saying Brandon.

swea_pea1 - US too!! I loved Brendan and was so *eh* on Brandon that I brushed off the name....then came up with a name we fell heads over heals in love with....Brennan Jude :).....I love DS's name.

Unfortunately, and proof that everything goes full cycle - everyone thinks he's saying "Brendan" and that's what he's often called.....

I have two daughters. If our older one would have been a boy she would have been Taylor James. (I'm glad she was a girl. We got over that one quick). If Emilie was a boy she was going to be Logan James. James is my husband's name. Here are the boys in our family:

Carter Lewis (Lewis is yucky, but it's been passed down through the family)
Tyler Steven

My sister is pregnant and going to use Dalton. My other sister is also pregnant (hmmm, what has everyone been up to???) and she likes Logan for a boy.

I like Cameron. I could never talk DH into that one, though.

We had a really hard time deciding on names for our DS who is now 15 months old. I liked Nicholas, Mason, Joseph, Dakota, Logan, and Tristan. DH liked Nicholas and kind of liked Mason. We had said that we had to settle on a name the next day (before we went to bed 3 weeks before due date). My water broke that night so even after DS was born, we were still debating on names. We finally chose Nicholas Parker since DH really liked Nicholas the best and I couldn't choose a favorite. I also like Parker for a first name, too.
Congratulations on your boy! I was worried about having one at first, but from the second he was born, I fell crazy in love with him. Boys are very sweet!
