During vacations, my internal clock seems to get out of wack and I usually end up waking up around 5-6AM - what is there to do at this ungodly time of morning at the resorts/parks? (ASMo & POR in particular) I know the buses do not start running until an hour before parks open. What times do the food courts usually open??

You could walk or jog around the property. Swim in the pools...
You can watch some TV, read a book, or take pictures around the resort.

Not sure of the food court hours.

I'm like you...I always wake up early before the rest of the family. If you're a coffee drinker, go down and find some coffee, then I like to go find a quiet beautiful spot and just sit. It's a great time of the morning, before the madness starts, to read, pray or just take it all in; the beauty of it all.

Have fun!!

I think the food courts open up around 6:00 but if you stroll around your resort with your camera you'll get some fantastic pictures.

I normally go for a wander round the resort, then 6-6.30 they open up the food court at the all-stars and I grab a coffee and a muffin, and write up my diary/trip report notes before waking my gang. It's truly my sanity time, so very precious to me ;)

I'm hoping to be the coffee/hot chocolate runner at this hour in the morning. I really hope either Pepper Market or the Rix is open early in the am!

:thumbsup2 I plan on using the mornings to take lotsa pictures of the Poly and get a handle on the days plans. If I can get breakfast ready, it will make getting to the parks at RD more realistic!

Jewelmicky I know exactly what you mean, this is a favourite of ours:

My normal internal clock is getting up around 6ish and in bed by 9 or 10. I try to stick to it while on vacation. So getting up at 6 is when I usually take my leisurely shower, and get ready so when my teen DDs get up, we're not fighting over the bathroom. :rotfl: Then I may do some :surfweb: time or if we decide not to take the :surfweb: I walk around our building and just take in the quiet.

I usually take a quick shower, grab the mugs, and walk to the CS to fill them with coffee or juice. Then, I take lots of morning pics! :)

My sister has never slept past 7am...except in WDW! A later bedtime combined with miles of walking kept her in bed until 9:30 one morning! Not shocking to me, but if you knew her you would be shocked!

the food court generally open at 6:30 - the bakery part.

the hot food - eggs, bacon, etc - doesn't open until 7 am.

i think the gift shop opens at 8 or 9 am.

definitely walk around the place. It is beautiful before the crowds get up.

POR is especially beautiful in the morning. go find all the out of the way places then surprise your family when they get up.

I absolutely love walking around at sunrise. Everything is so quiet and relaxing. :cloud9:

kldmom2000--I was thinking that too! We are staying at deluxe for the first time this year and very surprised to find out that they only have around 5 washers for 700+ rooms at WL. Do people in deluxes not do laundry? Sure I could take enough clothes for all week, but I would need a bigger car!:lmao:

Im a early riser as well...so I usually sit on the balcony waiting for the sun to come up. So peaceful.:cloud9: I like to just take in all the sights and sounds. then I get ready and while DH is getting up and drinking coffee, I tidy up the room and wait for him. Im not a coffee drinker, and his sitting around drinking 2 or 3 cups of coffee AGGRAVATES the dickins outta me!:headache:TIME IS WASTING---LETS GO ALREADY!!!! lol So sometimes I grab my camera and walk the resort and take pics of the grounds, flowers, trees, etc (for my scrapbooks). Or if we dont have a balcony, I sort thru all my loot that I bought and that reminds me of what else I want/didnt or forgot to get.

But the early mornings are really great to wander the grounds/take pics/or get some nice quiet "me" time. I love early times at the resorts. Have fun!!

morning EMH days: Mug-fill run, then wake the others up to get to the first bus.

otherwise, fill mug, swim, and take pics around the resort while the sun is still low in the sky and there aren't many people around.

do what I did every morning....Go to the gym! By the time I got done the family was just about up:thumbsup2
