Day 6
Shopping and Sea World
When we got up this morning Shelby's temperature had all gone, but during the night she was quite bad so and I had to get up to replenish the ice in her sippy cup from our wonderful freezer! Thank goodness for the ice maker huh! (I should add that since we have been home both kids have developed a liking for ice and are peeved that we don't have it on tap like we did on holiday!)
We popped to Target first thing to buy some kind of Tylenol for her to try, I was amazed that it comes in 5 different flavours! She settled on bubblegum - didn't fancy grape for some reason
and I kind of hoped that we didn't need to use it tonight although mothers intuition told me that we would.
Today it was seriously cold! I mean FREEZING! We decided that we would have a shopping day and chill out a little today, I had already decided on Premium Outlets for us as I usually do all of my shopping there when we are in FL. Terry and Lou were going off to the Florida Mall and we had already made plans to meet at Mall at Millenia at 6.30, for Cheesecake Factory - our first of the trip.
I can't remember if we ate out for breakfast this morning, but I have a feeling that we just ate toast at home again. This was becoming a habit, but a good one because we were saving a lot of money on breakfasts!
We got to Premium Outlets and found that all of the carparks were full, they have put in an overflow carpark now into a multistory carpark so we ended up in there and headed straight for the Tommy Hilfiger store, I bought some Boyfriend Jeans, two polo shirts, one in pink and white stripe and the other in green and navy stripe - I love these shirts as they are so comfy and easy to wear. A black shirt with diamantee designs on it and a nice cream coloured wooly jumper. Matt nearly had a fit when he saw he reciept - but I just ensured him that it would have cost me 3 times that much at home!
We headed for Gap where I bought myself a zip up hoody, we wandered around the rest of the mall and went in the Disney outlet store, where I got a few of the Disney Heigh Charts for 99c each - (I had promised another DISer that I would send them one on our return), a Year of a Million Dreams Minnie Mouse for our friends little girl's first birthday and an Ariel topper for my friend back home too. Technically none of this was for me so that made it ok!
By now the kids were starting to get a little fidgety with shopping so we decided to head back to the car and decide what to do for the rest of the day.
We hadn't activated any other tickets than the Sea World and Universal ones at this point and we were pretty close to SW on the I4 so we decided that we would go there.
We decided only to take one buggy into the park with us, which of course proved to be a mistake as Shelby decided that she was too cold to walk and spent a lot of the time whining about not having her buggy.
The park was vertually empty and a lot of the attractions were closed.
We just decided to go over to Shamu's Happy Harbour and entertain the kids but the big adventure playground was closed and there was one CM going from ride to ride letting the kids have a go on everything. I think we did the kids tea cups and crab hopper about 100 times.
It was still quite fun even though it was cold, we went to Wild Arctic and it was actually warmer in the exhibit with the ice wall than outside, the CM said that she was not normally pleased to be in WA but today she was!
We also went through the Penguins and Terrors of the deep. Harley really loves anything to do with sea creatures and dolphins so he was pleased to get to see the sharks in the tunnel again.
Time was knocking on by now so we made our way back out of the park and over to Mall at Millenia,
Tez and Lou were already there and they had got a buzzer for the table, being a Saturday night the line was huge and we waited about an hour, luckily the kids had gone to sleep in their buggies and we had time for a wander round the mall - not that I can afford much here but never the less I went to Yankee Candle and bought a 3 boxes of tea lights in scents that we can't get here, a christmas illumalid, some lip balms and a couple of tarts. Matt was beside himself, as most of you know that we sell Yankee in our own shop so I get them at trade price - but he doesn't understand the obsession with having the new flavours - we may not even get them and I HAD to have Honey Dew Melody for my kitchen
Matt then went off to look at some boring gadget shop so I went into Bath and Body Works and came away another $50 lighter as I bought my mom some lovely sweet pea shower gels and creams, I also tried their version of a wax tart, they smell absolutley gorgeous and are really good because you can split them into quarters - much easier to break up than the Yankee ones.
By this time the buzzer had started to flash so we went back to CCF
We were seated around by the bar, and by now both kids were asleep so we pushed their buggies under the table out of the way and had a look at the menu! Honestly it takes around 5 hours to choose what to eat at this place! I chose Cajun Chicken Littles with Fries and extra Honey mustard, DH had the Prawn and Chicken Jamalaya, Lou had Lemon Chicken and Terry I think also had the Jambalaya.
As usual I couldn't manage to eat all of mine so I asked for a take home box and we ordered cheesecake to go, there was no way we were going to attempt it here!
I had the 30th Anniversary cheesecake, which was so yummy, I had half when we got back to the villa and saved the rest for breakfast the next day!
