Heading back to Disney - have not been in 5 years. Going with my husband and son (age 9). Last time we only did 3 days - MK, Epcot and DHS. This time I will be with my son for a week but my husband will only be with us for three days. I need a little help planning the days my hubby is there to maximize his time there.

We will arrive at the airport on Fri, 11/13. Our flight gets in around 1030am. I plan to catch a quick cab from the airport to our hotel to drop bags off. We will not have a car so at that point we will have missed the hotel's shuttle to the parks so will probably have to cab it to a park after check in/dropping bags off (unless there is a better way to get there - we are staying at Westgate Lake Resort).

I want to for sure do 1 day at MK with hubby there. We have not been to either Universal and I know my son wants to do Harry Potter stuff with my husband there for sure. What should we do for those 2 1/2 days with my hubby there to maximize his time?

So the first day we will have the afternoon after arrival....which park should we do? None of them appear to be open late except Epcot that day.

Sat 11/14 I was planning to do MK because it is open until 10pm which will give us more time. The crowd factor is 5 out of 10 for that day.

Sunday 11/15 - open....not sure what park to do.

Any ideas/recommendations from those with more experience appreciated!

Friday afternoon. Buy a Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party ticket. You can enter the park at 4 PM party starts at 7 and goes until Midnight. (if they aren't already sold out.)

Saturday Universal Studios or IOA or a park to park ticket...You may want to upgrade to two days park to park ticket on this one but if one day is okay then on NOTE: if no one rides roller coasters or thrill type rides then you can do everything in both parks in one day.

Sunday Epcot Food and Wine, but if that's not your thing, then Hollywood Studios is open until 8 PM with EMH's until 10PM, while you can't ride any rides after 8 PM since you aren't an onsite guest, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Osbourne lights and rest of the parks while heading toward the exit.

It depends on your husband! Mine... I have to plan afternoon breaks and not run him ragged like my kids and I like to do.

Squeezing both Universal and WDW into 2.5 days is tough. I would ask your DH what his must dos are... You will have plenty of time to fill in the rest of yours and sons wants. Personally, I would want a car or be able to rely on Disney transport with a 9year old. I have no experience with staying offsite. If it were me, I would do Epcot our arrival day. FP Soaring, single ride Test Track, see any other attractions that are must do for your DH and have a sit down meal somewhere in World Showcase. I would RD MK on one of his other two days, tour until lunchtime, leave the park for a sit down lunch at a monorail resort, go back to hotel to chill, return to MK and stay as late as you want. I wouldn't squeeze in Universal, but if you do, yes park to park on the other full day. My DH would likely choose a 2nd day at MK or Epcot, or go to AK. It really is whatever your DH likes/how busy he wants his day to be.

Having a car is going to make your life soooo much easier...but I understand if you don't want to pay for the car and parking.

Since (it seems) you have not been to AK I would suggest doing that park. Your son would LOVE it.
