We will be travelling to California from North Texas in Late June. Right now the plan is to drive over three days. My husband will be with us for the drive and for the beginning and end of the trip. We need to make sure that our 8 year old gets to ride as many of the "big" rides when my husband will be with us. (We have a 5 year old whose idea of a thrill ride is Peter Pan.)
We went to WDW for the first time with the kids last summer and I am really excited about this trip to DLR. It seems like most of our WDW favorites are at DLR!
We know that we want to go to DLR, Lego Land and the beach. (The kids have never seen the ocean!) This is what I have come up with as a tentative plan for our trip.
June 25, Check into Hojo, dinner at Goofy's
June 26 DLR Up at Rope Drop, stay for an hour or 2 after lunch. We need to get an early start the next day so we won't try to see the night entertainment.
June 27 Lego Land
June 28 DLR ( We need to stay in the area so DH can fly out of LAX at 8pm) Fireworks for the kids and I
Just the me and the kids for the next 4 days:
June 29 Beach, hotel, DLR (make it an early night)
June 30 DLR rope drop, break back for the evening (Possibly see Fantasmic)
July 1 Beach, hotel, DLR
July 2 DLR (DH will arrive at LAX around 10pm)
July 3 DLR (anything left on the wishlist of rides, probably a repeat of the thrill rides for my son and DH) We will leave Anaheim and drive to Phoenix this afternoon or evening.
This gives my husband possibly 2 DLR park days. The kids and I have a possibility of 7. I was going to buy the Deluxe AP for myself and 6 day PH for the kids, 1 or 2 day PH for DH.
July 3 would be a blackout day for the AP which means that probably just DH and son would go to the parks. I kind of think that we will all be pretty much done with the parks by then. I will work out the ticket details as we get closer. I'm not too worried about the ticket situation.
Do you think that we have too much park time? Should we try to do some other places? I don't think that Universal will work because I am pretty sure that my daughter will not enjoy it much and we have a Sea World in Texas. Honestly, I just don't think that we will get bored.
I really want to do a couple of other character meals. My daughter will love to do the Minnie Mouse breakfast. We loved Ohana last year so we might try the Lilo and Stitch meal.
I felt like we moved at a breakneck speed last summer at WDW and I want to have a little more leisurely pace. (I do realize this will be a very busy week to go.) We will be up early, utilize FP, etc...
I would appreciate any input. Thanks for reading this, I know it is long!
