I've never traveled w/ such a large group but your plans sound very good to me. The only caution I'd throw in is your arrival day, that seems tight to me. Checking into a hotel can take time. Will you be relying on Disney transportation or do you have your own car? I LOVE Disney transportation, but I don't think you can check in, and get to Crystal Palace as quickly as that. But maybe I'm wrong, SOG is pretty close to MK. Otherwise, sounds like a wonderful trip!!! :cloud9:

8 kids?! They should nominate you for sainthood for that.

Wow, sounds like a wonderful, whirlwind of a trip. Hope you have a great time!

Wow! Nice job. I wouldn't attempt such an itinerary for a group this large at WDW, but you have given it a nice effort.

Several years ago I used to plan an annual itinerary for a group of about 100 high school seniors spending two days in D.C., one day in Baltimore, and four days in New York City. (Did that trip 16 times as a matter of fact, as we traveled from a Kentucky high school) Annual Senior Trip, don't you know.

But planning an itinerary for a large group at Disney? I wouldn't attempt it.

Good luck.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the positive feedback!

Mrs Ojo- Our plane arrives in MCO at 8:25 am. We are renting cars. We will divide up and some get the cars while the others take care of the luggage. We will take 417 to get to WDW and should be at SoG by 10 to 10:30 am. There we will split up again, with DH doing the checkin with bags (all the rooms are paid for) while I take others to get their passes. So I think we will have no trouble hitting MK by 11:30 am. Wish us luck!!!! :thumbsup2

Dandelion - three of the kids are our grandchildren and the rest are well behaved! :rolleyes1 We will probably just spend the evening at the pool, order pizza then an early night. We will have 2 connecting rooms, so we will just pile the kids in. Also I have been a daycare provider for 25 years, so the kids listen to me pretty well.

Karnak - 100 high school seniors in DC? I live near DC. YOU deserve the medal!!! WDW is nothing compared to that. Also I only have 8 kids ( 23 months to 10 years) and 11 adults. Much easier than your feat! :yay:

We have less than three weeks to wait. It really has helped me to post this itinerary and get your feedback. Makes the waiting easier. Thank you :sunny:

The stars and stripes pass is available to military and their guests. It is like the old Ultimate park hopper pass. It allows you access to all the parks, waterparks, DQ, etc. for a consecutive amount of days. Con - there is no rest days built in. You use it or lose it. Pros - You have more freedom to check everything out, change your plans, or take advantage of unlimited visits to DQ, waterparks and PI. Also it is cheaper than MYW pass with the add ons.

My only suggestion is to give yourselves more time on arrival day.

We did SOG Nov. 04, 10 of us, and our rooms were not ready when we got there. I think check in is at 3pm. I believe our rooms were ready at 2pm. Until our rooms were ready, we camped out at the pool, changed in the bathrooms and had lunch poolside. If it was just one room that was needed, they probably could have accomadated us quicker, but, we needed three, and wanted to be close together.

Have fun!

Thanks for your suggestion. We do plan on taking this day pretty easy.

When we check in at 10:30am we just plan to leave our bags there. We don't expect our rooms to be ready untill after 3pm. We plan to visit MK while we are waiting. Around 1pm DH and I will take everyone's list and go to Walmart for the extras. We should be back at the resort by 3:30 to 4pm. Our rooms should be ready by then. We will pick up dinner at SoG unpack then head back to MK for the fireworks.

I took a group of 12 to Europe last year. My advice. EVERYTHING will take at least half an hour longer then it should.... Just plan on it! And LEAVE the tardy folks behind....(They will learn)

Rock on Great Grandpa :thumbsup2

...good for him for making the trip, with his *fiance* no less. Hope you ALL have a magical time together!

Fiancee is a surprise to us as my mother died less than a year ago. They were happily married for 55 years. That is why we had originally planned this trip to help us all remember her together.

However, after mom died dad stopped exercising, started to drink a little to much and was so depressed. We were very worried. He is 76 years old. Then this 70 year old widow met him at a grief support group. She had been married for over 40 plus years and had lost her husband two years ago.

She made him laugh again. He started to take care of himself again. They plan to be married in June. They don't believe in cohabitation and are very proper. They won't be sharing a room at WDW. (to much info for me)She is a very nice lady and will help us keep our father around for a long time!!!! But, I miss my mom so much........:sad1:
