what should I be looking for ahead of time to buy cheap?

My daughter is 2.5. I have been looking on ebay for light up toys for the parade. I got a lanyard already for 90cents at a thrift store. And have been buying Disney related coloring books etc for plane/in room activities.

Looking forward to suggestions

-glow sticks--necklace or bracelet (dollar store)
-small bottle bubbles (dollar store) great for waiting in line or watching parades
homemade autograph book--sharpie markers OR
plain white pillow case for autographs
small Disney stuffie that appears on her pillow during the night, with a note attached.
I bought an Ariel doll that I am going to put on my grand-daughter's pillow after she falls asleep, with a note from princess Ariel.

When is your trip and where will you be visiting while you are there? Obviously Disney, but what about SeaWorld or Universal? Medieval times?

bababear-thank you for suggestions

I got her some cheap pjs that I will quick lay out before bed.

We are going in May for 6 days. Only Disney. Going to do Sea World in 2014 when we upgrade out Sesame passes to include Bush Gardens, Sea world etc.

I got glow sticks from the Dollar Store this evening (they even had glow masks!!). I also got those tightly wrapped face towels - I got a Cinderella for myself & a Woody for my husband. They had lots of Disney themed toys there too.

my suggestion is to hit dollar tree. they have some great stuff for disney trips there! i found a small pop up hamper there which is great for dirty clothes. i do laundry on our trips. we pack less and i like to come home with clean clothes. they sell small bottles of laundry soap there. i am going to check and see if they have an over the door shoe organizer to stick random health and beauty products. they have tons of glow sticks, small disney toys, games and lots of cheap snacks.

I've purchased some sunglasses that are Disney. Some colourful clips for the girls hair.

Rain ponchos, if you can find some in her size. Maybe a folding umbrella.

If you are going during hot weather, those battery-operated misting fans are much cheaper elsewhere.

Just about anything you can buy in advance is going to save you money. Is she going to want to dress up like a princess? Buy the dress, tiara, etc in advance. If you will have a car, you can go to WalMart or Target nearby and get tons of Disney stuff for cheaper than at the parks. You can also make tons of stuff as little surprises/treats. Check out the Creative Community boards for so many ideas.

Another idea for autographs is to have characters sign a photo matte.
