Items into France from US

I will be going straight to the hotel from CDG and then off to sightsee part of the day. Would like to bring some basic food stuffs from home. Granola bars, protein bars, oatmeal, etc. No "fresh" foods. Will these clear customs into France?

Same question home - I see some people posting cheeses, etc. to take back to the US but are these acceptable for transport through customs.

The non fresh foods like granola will be fine. Can't say about the cheese though

Thanks Carrie_Cat - those are the links I've been looking for! Wanted to bring back some French food but have had to toss good stuff in the past by not checking my regulations. In all fairness I was leaving Hawaii so I thought in country travel - guess again!
