1. Two way radios! Just my wife and I so they seemed useless.
2. Too many t-shirts! With purchases made at the onboard stores, it is better bring 1/2 the amount and simply wear your new stuff.
3. AA and AAA batteries! Someone said bring them, we did, and never used them!
4. First aid kit! Doesn't hurt to have one but bulky if not used!
5. Personalized Mickey and Minnie beach towel. Cruise provides you with enough towels.
6. MP3 player! Who has time to exercise on a cruise? If you have time to exercise while cruising, you are not enjoying yourself!

We did use our two way radios to keep in contact with our son. Since he is almost 12 he was allowed to check himself in and out of the Club at will. He loved having freedom to do whatever he wanted on the cruise. That was a highlight for him as it made him feel very grown up. Concerned mother that I am I made sure he kept in contact with us via the radios so I always knew where he was headed. It was also very convenient to call him and ask him to pick up sodas on deck 9 or snacks from Pluto's. He loved being our "waiter". It was like having an extra server!

Mary, what kind of range do you have on the ship with those radios?

Thanks,

Over the door shoe thing--there was more than enough shelf storage in the bathroom.

More dresses than I needed.

Not enough casual clothes that were not shorts...like capris or linen pants.

Same here about the batteries, and the too many of the wrong clothes. Also, too many shoes!

My3kids...what bathroom were you in??? We DEFINATELY needed our over the door shoe storage thing. We kept everything in it and it was sooooo convenient. I didn't think there was much storage space on the little shelf in the bathroom but then again, maybe we just have a lot of junk.

We also, took waaaaaaay too many clothes. I know, I know, everyone tells you that. But it's so true! There are days, especially when you have excursions, where you'll be in a swimsuit all day. My teenage boys lived in their swimsuits and t-shirts except for dinners. I took waaaaay too many shoes. In planning, you want to be coordinated but once you're there you throw caution to the wind, it's hot and you just put on the most comfortable sandals. Remember, most of your dressier clothes, you'll only have on for a few hours right after showering so you can wear them several times. A pair of black slacks goes a long way.

We never took duct tape and never needed it. We also brought snacks with us, candy, fruit snacks, that type of thing. The boys never touched them. Food is always so accessible.

Unless you have long, thick hair, skip the hairdryer...the one in the bathroom does the job. I brought a portable iron...yeah, right. Hang your clothes up in the bathroom while you shower...walaaah...no more wrinkles. I brought all my makeup...another duh! :confused3
Nobody knew me...a little mascara, some lip gloss, done!

If you question whether you'll need it, you won't!

There is a posting somewhere here that gives a long list of things to consider bringing. We did. Found that we did not need any of them. Overpacked way too much. Next time, we will pack only the essentials which will be 1/2 of what we packed last time.

Shampoo, conditioner, soaps.
I know people with a lot of hair probably see this differently, but I am a wash & towel dry girl when I am on vacation. (That sea breeze blows out any stying in about two seconds anyway.) The Disney provided products are good enough for me!

twice the clothing we really needed...way too many shoes... both DD's brought princess dresses(multiple) and not one was used....every kind of medicine(just in case)...2 way radios(couldn't get any reception)...I'm a chronic overpacker :earsgirl:

Just a regular split bath :teeth: Between the full length shelf under the sink and the triangle shelfs in the corner, plus space in the shower, we were fine. Maybe you do have too much stuff!! :rotfl:

We did use our 2 way radios, and thank goodness.
I definatley used the over the door thingy, I put everything in it. Sunscreen sunglasses, KTTW cards, everything was easy access.

We ordered a child's sun/fun basket from Shirley which was very nice BUT... we didnt eat any of it. She packed juices and candies and I agree enough food on ship!

I did not use the duct tape, but would bring it again, just in case...
I did not use the flashlight, batteries, or binoculars, and wouldnt bring again.
I did not bring and didn't need the extension cord, hairdryer, an alarm clock, (you can always get mickey wake up call), laundry detergent (we sent out dryclean, much easier), photo mailers, and water.

I would bring more booze, and dollar bills (room service tips)!!!

:Pinkbounc THANK YOU all for posting this info!!! It sure helps 1st time - but SOOOOO excited - cruisers!!!! :bounce:

Thanks,

The radios we purchased said they have a ten mile range. We used them all over on the boat and always had good reception. The only problem we experienced was picking up other cruisers on the boat using radios with the same frequency. When that happened we just changed channels

Too many pairs of shoes,
Copy of the Kuma satra,
Over the door shoe holder. More than enough storage space,
Bottled water. Filled up empty bottle at Beverage station,

Over the door shoe holder - definitely enough storage space in the bathroom and I have a lot of products.

Someone said you don't need to bring Hairdryer - I definitely encourage ladies with hair that is not wash and wear to bring your own hair dryer!

Oh, the extension cord also....didn't need that.

Things that were on the list that I brought...that I had no clue how to use:

1. Suction cup hooks...I put them on the mirror...nice decoration!

2. Duct tape...I figured maybe I had to tape my kids down to ever see them on board.

3. Rope....was that for my kids too?

Wish I had brought but didn't....small scissors would have been handy!
