I bought a china tea cup from Britain and I finally got around to using it. I bought it as a back up to the one I had already bought before. Well the first one broke and I used the new one. I poured my water into in and it cracked???? I was really upset. Is there a number for Disney that I could call and complain about it. I know they probably won't do anything about it but they should know that they have some defective products. It should not have cracked.

Call up the regular Disney line and ask for the mail order #, call them and tell them what happened, they should replace it for you. Hope you kept the receipt!

Yes, you should call (the merch # is 1.877.560.6477), but you should also be aware that you should NEVER pour boiling or very hot water into a china tea cup. This is one of the reasons people put cream in their teacup first. Cream helps "temper" the water to prevent the sudden temperature change that can lead to the china breaking. You would be better to use a teapot or the cream method.

Graygales is right. You broke the cup. Fine china will crack if you pour boiling water into it. You make the tea in a teapot and then pour it into the cup after it has steeped and cooled a little. If you have high tea in England or the far East, they will often pour the hot tea over a spoon to further break up the heat to prevent damage to delicate china.

Just to clarify things, I use loose tea which is made in an infuser. I then put the infused tea into the tea cup. So I didn't pour boiling water straight into the cup. I have another cup from Disney that I have poured boiling water in and it is okay. If I put boiling water straight into the cup though, I first put in my milk. I will try calling today or tomorrow.
