Hi! I just booked my first international and AbD trip for December 2020. Looking for any info on what can be expected on this trip in December. I live in Arizona and as it’s crazy hot here in the summer the thought of being on vacation where it is also hot made summer not an option for me so I opted for the December trip. It will just be me and my son and looking for any info you think might be helpful. TIA!

Which Italy trip are you doing?

Well, whichever one you are doing, simply go to weather.com and enter the city name. When it comes up click on Monthly and you can see the average temperatures for when you are going. Do this for each of the major stops on your tip to get an idea of what you may experience while you are there.

Just go for it ..... you could have cold icy wind ..... sunny cold wind ........ snow ... sun ...... Rain

And all sorts YOU Will enjoy yourselves

We went to Italy (Rome, Florence, Assisi, Venice, and Milan) at the end of November/beginning of December several years ago. We wore 3/4 length, wool winter coats and were comfortable throughout our trip--and we're Texans who probably get cold more easily than most.

I would return during December in a heartbeat. (I went once in summer and while still a wonderful trip, the heat was sometimes draining during a long day of touring.) You will have a great trip!

We’re from Florida and it was so nice (to us!) to wear coats and sweaters at Christmas! Some days were chillier than others but I packed leggings, sweaters and a mid- weight coat from Land’s End.

Compared to the heat, humidity and crowds in the summer, winter is a great time to visit although a disclaimer- I’ve been in Europe at Christmas for the past several years- I prefer to travel for winter and not live in it :)
