funhouse8 I have the tool and it does make it easier to put on the links, but you can also use a small screwdriver or in a pinch a nail file.

Some links seem to be easier to get open than others.

I don't use the tool.........just a piece of metal (actually I use the stem of an old watch)....but some people use the plastic toothpicks.
