It was the best of times, it was the worst of times!

Oh I'm so sorry that you got sick while on vacation! And on the last day with the grandkids! How disappointing! The good thing about stomach bugs is fortunately they don't seem to last very long. Hopefully... Right? I'm anxious to hear about the rest of vacation. I hope it was a quick recovery!

It was disappointing for sure. But there are so many who suffer with things that don't go away, so I had to count my blessings. (Not while I was feeling so badly, but eventually!:rotfl:)

Oh, and I LOVE the Cinderella outfit! That is sooo cute!

Thank you very much!:goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your illness at Disney, that was sweet Of Dan to stay band keep you company. It was nice of the CM to get you the applesauce.

Sprite or 7up really helps me if I have a stomach bug so if anyone else is at Disney and needs ginger ale but can't get any try Sprite. It is a Coke product. I find that I prefer it at room temperature when I am nauseous instead of cold.

The Cinderella skirt is just beautiful! Your handiwork is fantastic

We did think about the Sprite, but the sound of that just didn't appeal. There's just something about ginger ale when I'm sick…

Thanks about the skirt. I don't think we got a single pic of Charlotte IN the skirt. That day I was not firing on all cylinders!!

*******************************************************************

I remembered a cute story Dan told me about their Saturday at MK. They were waiting for the next show of Mickey's Philharmagic and Charlotte and another little girl struck up a conversation and talked the entire wait time. When they entered the theater, they were holding hands and chose to sit in the front row. Dan said it was the cutest thing. They parted company after the show. Of course if I had been there, I would have found out if the mom was on the DIS.

An update on me is that I'm still in Virginia. I will be leaving Thursday. Jen's cast comes off on Wednesday. Dan surprised me by driving to Virginia Friday after work. I was in the kitchen getting a drink and when I walked back there he was! I was sooo happy to see him! But is was extremely difficult for me when he left Sunday afternoon. However, I am loving this chance to spend so much time with the grandkids. Sunday Selah, Miles and Moriah and I sat and watched Frozen on my laptop. Part way through it Dan joined us. We made quite a sight crammed on a loveseat, glued to the laptop.

I hope everyone has a great Monday!!

Oh No! Lois I am so sorry you feel ill!!!! that's just terrible. I don't like this one bit!!!! I hope the pixi dust came and your back on your feet!!

Glad Jennifer is getting her cast off and even better you had you surprise visit from your prince!!! DAN YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

:yay: On spending time with the grandkids! and even more :cheer2: on getting home and back to routine!!!!

 as always!

I haven't made it over here in a few days, so I have a lot to comment on.

Love the Cinderella outfit. I'm so sorry you ended up sick and missed that time with Charlotte. I know you hated to spend your vacation stuck in the room.

I'm happy that Jennifer will be getting her cast off this week and you'll be getting to head home! I know you've been such a blessing to Jennifer and her family to be there and the time with the grandkids is a great bonus for you but I'm sure you're ready to be home.

What a husband you have! Taking care of Charlotte and Caroline single handedly so their parents could have a date night at Disney and then surprising you this weekend! You've definitely got a keeper!

Hope you get to enjoy the rest of your time with your family this week!

First of all I want to apologize for not following along. I finally went back to page 2 and got all caught up.

September is our favorite time of year to go to Disney!!! You'll love it. It will be VERY hot, though. And 6 and 4 are fabulous ages to go. Oh my gosh, you guys are going to have a blast!! Can I still say "blast"??? Anyway, that is so exciting for you. Chime in with any questions you may have. If I can't answer, someone following probably can. :thumbsup2

September is my favorite time of the year to go too. And yes, you can still say "blast" - I do all the time. My kids just roll their eyes at me.....

Thanks. Mousekeeping laid them out on the bed and she just added her Minnie and herself! I really don't mind the rain, but it was so chilling! brrr. And living in Ohio, I'm used to the cold!

I love the towel bunny!

And thus ends "the best of times"...

Uh oh....

I'm so sorry you were sick for the last part of your trip. That is just the pits.

I loved both the Frozen and the Cindy outfit (and also the Rapunzel dress!). I wish I had a little girl to make outfits for. Charlie (who loves kids and should have had a dozen of his own) keeps saying how much fun it would be to take a little one to Disney. Alas, we do not have any grandchildren and no immediate prospects on the horizon

Well, I'm all caught up and ready for the next installment. I hope all goes well with Jen this week and her cast comes off with no problems. I hope you will get to go home this weekend and spend some time with your prints!!!!:grouphug:pixiedust:

Yes, I kept checking my itinerary and I never found "get sick and spend days in bed" anywhere! :faint:

Glad Jennifer is getting her cast off and even better you had you surprise visit from your prince!!! DAN YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Yes, he is he best. It was soooo hard when he left, though. But I'll be home soon.:cool1:

:yay: On spending time with the grandkids! and even more :cheer2: on getting home and back to routine!!!!

 as always!

I'll drink to that!:cheer2:

I haven't made it over here in a few days, so I have a lot to comment on.

That's ok. I know you've been very busy! Glad you had time to stop by!:flower3:

I really did hate missing the time with Charlotte and everyone. I didn't get to say goodbye to any of them. :sad1: But at least we had 3 1/2 days of fun, so that's better than nothing! And Charlotte had a great time. She has been wanting to FaceTime with me and talk about the trip a lot!:goodvibes

Yes, a month is a really long time to be away. I will miss them so much when I leave. They have been a blessing to me as well. (Most of the time.:rotfl:)

Yes, Dan has remarkable patience and a truly giving nature. I do think I'll keep him!!::yes::

First of all I want to apologize for not following along. I finally went back to page 2 and got all caught up.

No worries! Glad you could stop by. I know you've been so busy since coming home. I hope your weather is getting better and you're seeing signs of Spring finally. This is one winter I am happy to say goodbye to!!:crazy2:

September is my favorite time of the year to go too. And yes, you can still say "blast" - I do all the time. My kids just roll their eyes at me.....

:rotfl: Oh, I get the eye roll a lot too. If we ever get to go back in September, we should meet up. As it stands now, we will be taking a grandchild to Disney through 2017! And those trips have to be in the Spring due to school.

I love the towel bunny!

Uh oh....

I'm so sorry you were sick for the last part of your trip. That is just the pits.

Looking back, it could have been much worse. If we hadn't planned to stay after Charlotte went home, there was no way I could have gotten on a plane, or even out of bed for that matter. So that was a true blessing!

I loved both the Frozen and the Cindy outfit (and also the Rapunzel dress!). I wish I had a little girl to make outfits for. Charlie (who loves kids and should have had a dozen of his own) keeps saying how much fun it would be to take a little one to Disney. Thanks! I know you do wonderful things with your sewing machine! Can't wait to see what you're coming up with for Mo's munchkins! And a new bag for Chicago? Must post pictures!

I think Charlie sound a lot like Dan. We had to wait quite a while for the grandkids to start coming along, but then, blam! before we knew it we had six!! And the boys haven't even started yet! I just know you and Charlie will be fabulous grandparents!

Well, I'm all caught up and ready for the next installment. I hope all goes well with Jen this week and her cast comes off with no problems. I hope you will get to go home this weekend and spend some time with your prints!!!!:grouphug:pixiedust:

I'll probably get to the next installment once I get home. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to do the report. It should pick up once I'm home an back to eating bon bons and watching tv all day!:lmao:

******************************************************************

Jennifer is so anxious to get her cast off this morning! She has a long road of PT ahead of her to get function back, but she is one determined young lady, so I know she will work hard and make good progress.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:I'm going home tomorrow!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you so much, all of you who have encouraged me and prayed for all of us and given me a laugh or two along this bumpy road! I see the light at the end of the tunnel and it looks REALLY good. Thank you all for being here for me. I wish I could meet every one of you. Maybe some day.:grouphug:

Excited for your big days today and tomorrow! Hope everything goes smoothly with Jennifer's cast being removed and your trip home. Hope Spring decides to come to Ohio soon, I believe one of my Facebook friends mentioned snow if the forecast this week! We are in the 80's this week and back down to 70's next week. I am enjoying it while it lasts, we'll be way too hot soon.

Safe travels back home. Let me know when Jen has to go to Baltimore. I live about 45 minutes from the city.

Thanks! I had a good trip back and spent the next day doing absolutely nothing! Our weather has been cold, but very little snow. Whenever I think about moving to Florida, I realize I don't think I could handle the heat. Our son loves it though.

No kidding. Our other daughter, Emily lived in Baltimore for a few years getting her masters at the University of Maryland and interning at Johns Hopkins. I will definitely let you know when Jen is coming your way. She is in awe of my DIS friends who have been praying for her.:goodvibes

*****************************************************************

So, I had a pretty good trip home. Really good in fact until I hit Ohio and the temps dropped and I hit a huge rain storm. It was white knuckle the last hour of the trip, but I made it and was so glad to get home. Dan wanted to take me out for dinner, but I was too tired so we ordered pizza. I don't usually eat pizza with my dietary restrictions, but once in a great while I have it. I was in bed by 9PM!

Dan and i had a great weekend together. He even went to a sewing expo with me on Saturday!!

I came home to a spotless house but a totally empty fridge and pantry. So we ate out all weekend and I have to get myself to the grocery store today.

I'm thinking about planning for Miles' trip to Disney already. I know none of you will judge since that's what we all do here, right? Anyway, we are thinking sometime in April for his trip. It will only be 5 days, 4 nights since we'll be taking him out of school. There usually isn't any free dining at that time of year, but there may be resort discounts. I'll just have to wait and see on that. But I was thinking he would enjoy Pop Century. May Caribbean Beach in a Pirate room. Anyone had any experience with CB?

Okay, I will try to get the next installment up today and get this thing moving along. BTW, can someone tell me how to put a link in my siggy for this report? TIA! Hope everyone has a wonderful day and week.:grouphug: It's good to be home!:yay:

Day 6

Actually before I start day six, I forgot to mention that along with the flu, I had a scratchy throat which soon developed into laryngitis. I sounded like a man for a couple of days and then couldn't talk at all. Yep. Lots of fun!

Okay, so day 6 I woke up feeling much better. This was the first good night's sleep I'd had in a few days, so that really helped! I ate some scrambled eggs for breakfast which Dan got for me. I'm not supposed to eat eggs, but I wanted something light but with protein. I felt pretty washed out, but wanted to get on with our vacation. Hey, I wasn't going to let wobbly legs keep me down!:thumbsup2

So…off to Epcot we go. I had had to cancel reservations at BOG, Ohana, Grand Floridian and Tony's. We had an ADR at Le Cellier and I really wanted to keep that one. I was hoping I could do it justice.

We had a brief wait for our bus to Epcot and got there before opening. Dan stood in line while I sat on a nearby ledge in order to conserve my strength. For the first time, my magic band did not work properly and I had to go to a CM with an iPad who did something magical and let me in. We went directly to Soarin and walked right on, even getting row one! I was a bit concerned that I would maybe have trouble riding anything, but this one gave me no problems.

Dan grabbed coffee at Starbucks while I sat on a bench nearby. Then we went back to Soarin to use our FP+. So far so good for me. Next we rode Living With The Land. We always do this ride at least once, sometimes twice. I just love everything about it! I didn't take any pictures this time since I have hundreds of them, but I think Dan took a couple. It's hard to resist when you see a giant pumpkin or a tomato tree! It was a walk on, which was nice.

Next up was the Under the Sea With Nemo. It was a walk on as well. We usually do Turtle Talk with Crush, but opted not to this time. I think a show had just started? Not sure why we didn't see it. Anyway, next up was Spaceship Earth, which I also love. I never get tired of this ride. I think we had a FP+ for this, but not sure. At any rate, we didn't have to wait at all. I think the crowd level was a 1 for this day.

Then we went to Ellen's Energy Adventure, but it was temporarily closed, so we went to Test Track and rode standby which was about 30 minutes. This would be a really good test of my wellness! I passed with flying colors! I could do without the whole designing your vehicle thing and just get to the ride already!! But, it is what it is. After that, we went to Figment. No waiting!!

We wandered over to World Showcase and I got some popcorn since I couldn't think of eating anything more substantial. Dan wasn't hungry since he'd had a pretty big breakfast, so we sat on the curb in England eating popcorn and watching the comedy troupe we love. They are really so funny and they do three different shows, all of which use people from the crowd making it truly hilarious sometimes. If you haven't caught their act, you really should. It's performed in the street between the Tea Shop and the gift shop.

After that we wandered WS and caught whatever performers we could: the drummers in Japan and just a bit of the acrobats in China. They are amazing! If you've never seen them, you should take the time. We caught their entire act in September and loved it! As we were making our way around, Dan said he wasn't feeling very well. Wait. What??? Oh no!!:sad2:

I'm having a bit of trouble with photoshop, so will insert pictures later.

I'll be baaaaack!!

I deal with the heat better than the cold, so Florida is a good fit for me. We had some pretty cold weather this year and I told my husband that I'm pretty sure I couldn't survive living anywhere further north! I will add that my parents live about 30 minutes away and have a pool, we're about 30 minutes from the beach, and we have a community pool in our neighborhood so we have lots of opportunity to cool off when the heat does get unbearable. We also don't do Disney over the summer - just too hot for us to be out and about like that.

I hope Dan wasn't sick on your trip too!

Hearing about your Epcot day together really makes me want to schedule an adults only trip for me and DH - how much more we could see and do without strollers and a million bathroom and snack breaks!

Sounds like you had a good weekend being back home and an awesome start I your epcot day!

:laundy:

YAY for a clean house! YAY for being able to go out for dinner!!! :woohoo:

I am so glad you hear you started to feel better able to ride some spectacular rides!

Ugh Oh. Dan not feeling good now?!?!

Never seen the comedy shows! :confused3

Yes, my sister moved to Texas since she couldn't stand the cold. And having family around is a huge plus if you move somewhere. My parents are 85 and 86 and Dan's mom is 91, so we won't be going anywhere until they're gone since we live close to them now. Dan is a computer guru and would probably be able to retire and go anywhere and get a job. (He's going to retire early at 59 1/2). So, Florida is not out of the realm of possibility. Maybe we'll be neighbors one day?!:cool1:

I hope Dan wasn't sick on your trip too!

We shall see….:scratchin

An adults only trip is way different from one with kids, that's for sure. And if you both enjoy Disney, well worth it! We just love our trips together. We rush around if that's how we feel, or we take it slowly if that's our mood. We usually start our days at park opening, do all the attractions we're interested in at least once have lunch, go back to our room for a break or pool time during the hottest part of the day, then go back to a park in the evening. Since you have family close by, I would definitely plan a get away weekend at least!:goodvibes

Sounds like you had a good weekend being back home and an awesome start I your epcot day!

Yes, we had lots of fun together once I got home.

Our Epcot day did start off pretty well. It was incredibly great to be out of the room and back on my feet!!::yes::

:laundy:

Thanks! Yes, it was soooo great to be out of the room and we actually had pretty nice weather and some sun, which was a big bonus!!:beach:

Ugh Oh. Dan not feeling good now?!?!

Can you believe it?? I couldn't!:crazy2:

Never seen the comedy shows! :confused3

I'm not sure the kids would enjoy them, so it may be something to do when you and Tom are solo or we go on our future girls only trip!princess: (I imagine one or two of those Grey Goose Slushies would make it even funnier!)

DH is not quite the Disney fan that I am, so we'll have to see if he'd be interested in an adults only trip. I do a girls weekend during Food and Wine Festival with some mom friends of mine and we have a blast! But, in 2 trips, we've ridden one ride. This trip is all about getting away from the kids and husbands and hanging out together drinking and eating. One of the girls that goes with us is a huge Disney fan like me - we had plans of hitting EMH and getting in our favorite rides and then meeting everyone at Epcot later - didn't happen! Sleeping in and having a leisurely morning getting ready won out. Maybe this year?

Maybe plan a trip with that one friend who loves Disney as much as you. That would be lots of fun!!

I read on D~'s report that you are sick. I sure hope you get to feeling better very soon! It's so hard to work when you feel wooly-headed. Take it easy and take good care of yourself!!

oooooh noooooo, I was just thinking as I was reading that it really sucks to be sick on vacation, but at least everyone else didn't get it too......:scared1: This is probably my worst fear for our trip. We have planned for so long!!!! We have outfits and bows, and shoes, and magnets, and everything under the sun. Our ADRs are good, hopefully we will get good fp.....but what if someone ends up with the flu.....:crazy2: I am gonna stock up on vitamins before we go!!!! :lmao:

I LOVE the cinderella skirt!!!! Evie would FLIP over that one! You need an etsy shop!

I'm so glad to hear that Jennifer is doing well.....and that you got home! I know it will be nice to enjoy some peace! I'm sure you were more than ready to be home with your prince too!!! :dance3:

Thank you for all of your encouragement on mom's ptr. It has been so nice to hear the kind words from all of you!!!
