This was not our first Columbus Day weekend at the Mouse, but definitely our hottest. Tues. forecast said 90's but that it would feel like 104 degrees. Anyone else feel that this Columbus Day weekend was hotter and more humid than in years' past? Or are we just getting old? We were dying each day. Just walked outside the hotel and my glasses steamed up. I drank plenty of liquids but still felt dehydrated. Then we got back home and it was only in the 50's.....

Oh, I so agree. We came home Sat. night after being there 9 days and it was extremely humid compared to what we've been used to in the past during that time of the year. I was talking to a lady at the Crystal Palace on Sat. that is from Florida and she said that it has been more humid lately because of all the tropical storms. A couple of times my lens on my camera even fogged up when we went outside, not just my glasses. It was in the low 60s when we got home and it felt great to me.

No, it wasn't just you. We were there last week and it was miserable! The humidity was so high. I felt like we were in a sauna. UGH! I had to wipe my camera lens off several times because it was all steamed up from the humidity. We're thinking February next time. :)

hi,
we just got home last night and yes it was too hot.at one point at ak i felt dizzy and faint we had to sit on a bench and i got 3 bottles of icea tea and guzzled them right down.

HI
We were also there last week and the heat was almost unbearable some days. I've been to Florida many times in Oct. and I have never felt it so hot. :flower:

That's crazy! Based on everyone's reports and the extended forecast, I'm only packing shorts for next week! My sister, who has asthma, specifically wanted to avoid FL summer and wouldn't come with us in July and waited for our Oct. trip to join us. I just had to break the weather to her last night...

Not sure what it's like now but yes it was ridiculously hot. I thought I was just being a whimp so I'm glad others felt it hot too.
It was so hot we went to Typhoon Lagoon ALL day on Sunday. Basically from opening to almost closing. Great way to get away from the heat and not be shivering while waiting in line (which there were practically none).
Also talking to CMs and watching the weather they are not used to getting storms into Oct and so much rain. It was rainy on and off for several days into our trip. Hot and rainy and humid.
But we loved it!

I'm still here and it has cooled off a tiny bit since last weekend, with a nice breeze too. Last weekend was very hot and humid and way more crowded than last year.

Last year on Columbus Day it rained all day, and they had just had the hurricane here, so it does rain into October! LOL

Yep, I agree too...this is our third Columbus weekend in a row and this one was HOT and humid. Supposedly it's supposed to be around 80 next week though...guess we missed that weather. :)

Crazy hot! We were there for our annual holiday weekend for the F&WF. I never remember it being so hot and humid. Walking from booth to booth for tastings wasn't nearly as fun this time around!

YES YES, SIZZLE SIZZLE!! It's been hot down here in South FL. Was looking forward to even a slight cool down for our trip up to WDW late next week (we may actually get one-the forcasters are saying cold front!!) Highs in the mid 80's instead of the high 80's low 90's and lows in the 60's WOW...now that's chilly LOL!!!!

I remember wearing sweats this time last year when we were there!! Hoping it's not as "drippy" as it was when we were there in late August. Even if the humidity subsides a bit it will feel a bit cooler.

We are used to late Nov and early dec weather which meant dry not humid weather ranging fro 16C to 25C daytime, but as low as 11C evening time - the latter is definately jeans and jackets.

Looking at the weather forecast for the next two weeks, its stil pretty dry and sunny, but a lot HOT HOT HOTTER than Dec, around 28C to 31C , but the good news is , no need for those changes to jeans and jackets!

Not sure on the humidity factor, shows fewer clouds and thunderstorms so i guess that must equal lower humidity.

At the end of the day, the weather is the weather and you do what you are able. It'll be a ball whatever so I am not worrying!!!

Oh I am praying it will cool down!! We leave in 2 weeks for a week in the World and we also HATE the heat & humidity! We purposely do not go in the summer time just to avoid it!!!

the same for us :sad2:

We also just got back and I can't believe how hot is was for October. We were sweating so much in our costumes on friday night. We actually had to leave the park early on monday as my dd was really feeling the heat. It was 90 and above everyday that we were there.

Well it was beautiful today...not humid at all, perfect weather!! I hope it continues :sunny:
