She looks so sweet. I think Grace is the perfect name for her :)

She's so quiet, I've only heard her yawn! And she's so friendly, I'm not sure she'll bark at strangers. But I hope she does b/c its such a cute bark!

Sad story actually. My husbands grandpa's basset hound had puppies. Almost every nite we went over there during May to see the puppies. He finally let us take one home in mid-June. We spent a lot of time with his grandpa when we visited the puppies. Guess what, grandpa passed away in July, he was 88 years old and fit as can be. I think the puppies brought all his children and grandchildren and great grandchildren to his house who otherwise might not have visited that often before his death.

I think that's a great story! Sometimes it just affirms the idea that there is a higher power out there. ;)

Adoption is a wonderful thing! Grace is beautiful!

We have 3 beagles that we "saved" from a company that used beagles for FDA testing. The company typically had the dogs put down after testing but decided to see if they could find homes for them instead.

They are cute and bring much happiness (and dog-related problems! ha ha) to our family.

Thanks for saving her!

That first post was so sweet it literally brought tears to my eyes. Good thing Dear Fiance is in the shower...he would think I'm losing it. :o

What a sweetie. You're an  for saving that dog!

Here's my story. He was lost or abandoned... no one knows for sure. Someone at the apartment complex he called home called the shelter because everytime they opened their door, he'd run in their home.

The first few weeks at the shelter weren't too bad. People would stop and look at him and say what a big cat he was. Then they'd pass him by as they looked for a kitten they'd bring home. He was the cat of the week in our local paper but still people passed him by. His picture was put up in stores all over our area but still he stayed at the shelter.

Then after 5 weeks of being in his cage, he started to get desperate. One day he reached out to grab someone that was passing by and scratched them. His plea for getting attention was about to seal his fate. No aggresive animals in the viewing area. He would be put to sleep that very day.

I came into the shelter that morning and one of the staff told me what was going to happen. Did I even think about it? Maybe for a nano second. Yes he was moved. . . right to my house.

Now he's the alpha cat of all my kitties. A sweeter more loving animal you'll never find. He's my Chester.

Please... if you're thinking of getting a cat, give an older animal a second chance. You'll be glad you did! :teeth:
