How sad. Bet the captain thought he was signing something special for a passenger to take home and frame or at least keep in an album. And we wonder why DCL doesn't put their logo on their linens....

Wouldn't mind getting one of those western inaugural pins, but there going for $60+ OUCH!

I'll be grabbing everything and selling them on e-bay.
;)

Were those pins given away? One sold for $79 or more earlier in the week.

Maybe I'm missing something, but what is the big deal about having something, especially a menu, that is signed by "Captain Henry" Is he considered a celebrity or something? I am a big Disney collector and if I had bought something on a cruise that I had been on and he signed for me, I think it would be different. I don't see the big deal buying something that somebody else got on their cruise while I was sitting at home. Am I wrong? And did you notice one of his other auctions is for a plate from animator's palate. What did he do, steal a plate - that's real classy. People doing stuff like that is what brings the price of our cruises up.

Menu = Free just ask your server for one.
Signature = free just stand in line a few minutes
Pictures of the signing = free just get double prints made on sale.

Sounds like someone trying to recoup the cost of their cruise by creating a " RARE" item that doesn't seem to be too hard to get.

If the cruise costs something to go on, then it's not free. If it were free and that easy to get one then everyone who is interested in having one would have it. Maybe everyone who IS interested in having one of those menus already has it and no one will bid on that item.

IMO this person selling their menu is no different than the silent auctions that DCL has themselves where they sell old menus and other items. I don't think they're doing anything wrong by selling a collectible item that they got from going on a special (ie inaugural) cruise, and I hardly think that the $30 they get for the menu (if they get it) will recoup the thousands they spent on that cruise.

I guess I just don't see what the big deal is.

I had the Captain sign a T-Shirt of mine for free. I also wouldn't want to spend that much on a free menu, it also wouldn't mean the same to me (being I didn't get the menu and have it signed myself). Just my opinion. ;)
