Interesting story how our cruise came about,, last summer we were on our way to Kennedy Space Ctr from Tampa, & then onto 2 days @ DW, as we neared Port Canaveral area we saw a Disney ship docked. My daughter was like what is that? I said it must be a Disney cruise boat so she then said can we do that? We had never thought much about cruising with her but we had cruised other lines before, the rest is history.

Day 1: Nice boarding weather, we made it thru check-in quickly then onto waiting for Minnie & registering for Arm band, then off to the ship. We were so awed by the beauty of the lobby! After quick bearings we headed to lunch @ EG, yum! By then rooms were ready so we got our 1st look @ 9668. We loved it. We made way to Aquaduck which had quite a wait, and the pool was sooo overcrowded. DH & DD rode once and she went into Nemo, we then headed for lifeboat drill & Sail Away. Our 1st dinner was @ EG as well. We were traveling w friends so we knew our dinner companions. I had scallops & DD got her 1st Mickey Bar and we headed for the Golden Mickeys. We headed back to the room & tried out room service of Cheese plates and cookies & wings.

Day 2: we got up docking in Nassau, we headed to Cabanas for breakfast,, what disorganized chaos of buffet lines and not understanding flow. I didn’t love this. We eventually made it off ship and walked down Bay St & straw market & just enjoyed sights. We got caught in downpour but eventually made way back to ship. I thought we got thru all the hair braiding stuff and right there before going into the building my DH said why don’t we get DD hair braided,,, alrighty. We did late lunch @ Grill area and then rested a bit after that for our Martini Tasting class in Meridan,, that was sooo fun. Tibor can really make some drinks! We had put our DD, 7, in Kids club for the 1st time along with her friend and got them out for dinner. My DD was a rare exception in not loving Kids club :confused3 She is an only child & used to do everything w us so not sure if she was worried about missing something else? Our 2nd dinner was @ RP, I had requested on night one that we get some grilled shrimp for the kids one evening, our server happily obliged and told me night 2 was best for that and she brought us a huge platter full after we sat down! I had the filet dinner w lobster & 2 desserts that night! We then headed to Villians & the Pirate party & Fireworks w a quick stop thru the buffet. I think in future sailings we might do the fireworks from our own balcony, I think that would have been magical too.

Day 3: we were docking in CC, what a VIEW! The weather was gorgeous. We headed back to Cabanas for breakfast & did better this time but still all the people so rude, cutting in front of you it really turned me off. I never felt we had time to do breakfast in EG or RP so that is why we went back. We got off ship & found our way to some chairs and headed for the beautiful water! I pulled a chair right down there and just enjoyed the views as my DD played. We made our way to Pelican Plunge for DD to slide then eventually to eat lunch. We didn’t wander around much, we were kinda tired so we missed out on Spring a leak and the games area. Hubby snorkeled and we played in the sand. Back onboard & dinner @ AP where I had shrimp pasta. I must say AP was my least fav dinners, the kids loved it but I liked their menu least & it was louder. I had the trio dessert & we finished off the evening w a few cocktails in Meridan. We tried DD back in Kids club and this time she did a bit better, she saw Captain Hook!

Day 4: the magic comes to a close much too soon. I knew there was no way we were making breakfast @ 6:45 so we did Cabanas again, by this time I was OVER their foods for breakfast. We made a last min decision to rebook for next yr!

Things I wish we had done but didn’t have time: goofy golf, the adult pool, the observation deck, sit in a chair on deck 4 w a book!

It seems like you had a great trip. How quick was room service? Do you have any pictures? So, the grilled shrimp wasn't on the menu but you requested and they brought it? My kids would be in heaven if they got a big plate of shrimp. Our trip is in October and the kids are so clueless. I can't wait for the big reveal.

room service came within 15 minutes but it was maybe 10:30 at night when we ordered. sorry no pics of that
Yes no grilled shrimp on the menu, I just mentioned to our server that our kids were crazy about it and we told them we knew they prob had good ones on the Mickey Boat,,, she was like no problem, lets do that tomorrow night since the shrimp are more compatible to RP menu. As soon as we sat down the next night she was like okay I will put in your shrimp order and it will be up shortly! My 7 yr old won't eat fried shrimp, she makes me pull off the breading, LOL

Huffjoann: Enjoyed your trip report but just so you'll know for next time, there is no buffet line at Cabanas and the folks stepping in front of you to get their food were not being rude to you.

It is designed for you to pick up your plate and just step into whatever area you like, get your food item, and move to the next area for something you would like. If one section is particularly busy you'll find the same items repeated a little further down the restaurant.

Hope this helps for your next cruise.
