Well, as most of you may know, today was my mediation. This is going to be a very long post and will be divided into two parts(sorry Pop Daddy), so here we go:
It's been a long couple of weeks. My ex's cell phone was turned off because he didn't pay the bill, and he refused to give me his home telephone number. I had not talked to Maddy on the phone for a long, long time...and he was making it impossible to see her. She came over here telling me stories about her Daddy smoking and it caught her blanket on fire (he was a non smoker when we were together), Dawn was her new Mommy, and Mariah was her sister. I had no clue what was going on over there, as he got very nasty and told me to mind my own business or I would never speak to Madison or see her again.
As expected, mediation was quick. We each asked for custody of Madison, and neither one of us wanted to bend. He claimed his reasoning for wanting custody was because I had zero intrest in my daughter, never wanted her, and to this day he has to insist that I take her.
My lawyer was not impressed. At the end of the mediation, my ex wanted to know exactly where I worked and wanted a #, and I told him the only way I'd give it to him is if HE gave me HIS home #. He refused.
About a half hour later on the way home, I called Kindercare to see if Madison was there that day. She had not talked about her school in a long, long time and I really wanted to know as to why. They said she wasn't there. I called my ex and asked where she was, and he said she was at school.
I asked him if he was sure, and he said yes...and I called him out on it and told him he was a liar. Told him I called Kindercare, and she wasn't there. He insisted that she was. Again, I told him he was a liar, and I wanted to know where my daughter was. He said he'd find out, and I would call him back in a few minutes.
So, I call back and he says that she's with his babysitter. I asked him why in the world she would have the authority to just keep Madison and NOT take her to school, and he wouldn't tell me anything. I told him I'd call later tonight to talk to her, and he said "maybe". GRR!!
I called a family member of his who had been picking her up, and they said that they haven't had her in a few weeks. One night, he apparently called them and said that he didn't need them anymore. They were VERY surprised that he was acting this way. I called Kindercare back and asked if they would check their records to see when the last time Madison came in.
It's been a minimum of 4 weeks since she's gone to school.
I called him back right away and asked when it was the last time she went, and he said last week. I asked if he was SURE, and he said yes. I immediately called him a liar and a sad sack of...well...you know...and confronted him with my information. I demanded to know what he has been doing with MY daughter and WHY wasn't she in school?? Where had she been this entire time?? What had she been doing??? He wouldn't admit to any of his lies, called me a HORRIBLE name to call a woman (starts with a C) and said if I keep it up, I'll never see my daughter again.
I was really depressed, angry, annoyed...you name it. But there was an odd little light at the end of the tunnel....
Part two is here.
