It Just Doesn't Seem Right

I know that Disney doesn't have to offer any discounts at all , but it just seems so unfair that people are getting great rates in parts of October, November and December and I couldn't get AP or BAT or anything for 10/18 to 10/25 at ANY resort in ANY category from standard to suite. I can't believe that Disney is booked that full - it's the middle of October! Most schools are in session, it's right before Halloween and right after Columbus Day. I chose this week specifically for those reasons. I don't mean to be a "spoil sport" but I have only paid rack rate ONCE for a Disney trip - my honeymoon in GF LV - and I never thought I'd "have" to pay rack rate again. I mean there is absolutely NOTHING available for my dates ANYWHERE! It is so frusturating.

Just had to vent.

Don't forget the PGA tour is at Disney for a week around that time.

Hi, I have a 74 rate at POP for part of your dates and didn't have a problem getting it. I think you need to look a bit passed the phones. First I suggest calling again. Second, I looked up your dates on Expedia.com and it showed availability for the entire time for these resorts WITH the discount rate. So I believe there is some availability at some places.

All 3 AllStar resorts had standard view available
POP had standard view

The other resorts are booked up for your time period. There is some stuff available though if you want a good deal. Personally for me I am excited to try POP out. Its my first time staying on-site!

If you go to Disneyworld.com, it appears they have some values available with BAT or BAS. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Denise

Online you can get those dates at Pop...but I see your plan is WL so a value might not be appealing....however the price of 577.64 total IS attractive :smooth:

this is what i don't understand. i have already booked at the WL for early december and when i called there were no AP rates that could be applied. to a room already booked and deposited paid. i know, i know.......keep calling.

Did you try night by night. One person was told no for their dates (don't remember month) and then started having them check each night. Turns out they got a discount on all but their last night.

Worth a shot!

Try this.

Look for your vacation one day at a time. It could be that just *1* night is sold out at the discount. The way Disney's system works, your whole week would be kicked out. So, hopefully, you'll find the discounted rate for all but 1 or 2 nights.

Good luck!

I know this is hard for some and many just cannot do it because of schedules. But flexibility is the key with rates. You just never can be sure when or where they will be available. Its not a sure thing that the rates will be available. I'm sure that must be very frustrating for many who have already planned out a date.

I am going Nov. 10-14th and I guess I cannot use this code--that SUCKS!

Disney Queen - Maybe you could stay at WL for part of your dates (if you can get a discount for some of your stay) & then maybe change to another resort for your other days w/ an AP discount. I was able to apply the AP discount to my WL ressie for Nov 28-Dec 1 (3 nights) but I read a lot of posts about people arriving Dec 4 & nothing being available.

Yep, that's probably it!!! The Funai Classic at WDW is scheduled from October 18 - October 24th. The first three days are for practice rounds, and probably a pro/am as well. After that on Thurs - Sun is the actual tournment, with all people probably leaving on Monday. Also, way back in the Spring, WDW did offer discounted rooms during this time with the 5/2 package. Those were very popular, and probably booked up most of the discounted rooms. WDW only sets aside a certain number of rooms which can be discounted, and with the 5/2 package having already been out there, and with the combination of the Golf Tournament, there is probably going to be little to no availability that week. My sister is going to be there that week, and she's booked on the 5/2 package. At the time she booked it, there was plenty of availability with the package, but I'm sure it was eaten up by some people who want to attend the golf tournament.

OT

Poohbear123, did you try the web site. It has a different code and is giving discounts even to the black out periods. go to disneyworld.com and click on the icon for fall discounts. good luck.

I checked Expedia and following are available as of 2:30 8/26:

All Star - $74 (std)
Pop century - $74 (std)
WL - $215 (studio)

These threads are rights. Your problem seems to be Thursday and Friday night.

That would be me. Luckily, I got the BAT code applied this morning to that one remaining night. I feel very, very fortunate!

Yes, do try night by night. And, I plan to call back in a couple of weeks after people who reserved rooms don't pay for them to see if I can apply the AP rate to that one room. AP rate is better than BAT rate. (But I'll not complain if I can't. I feel lucky to have gotten something off!)

My dates are 10-21 to 10-25 and we are 2 nights first at Coronodo and no discount available but at POR we are able to get a discount...

Just got off the phone, and NO POFQ for me, I am staying at ASM-All Star Music!:o Oh, well, at least I am going AND saving big Bucks!:bounce:

Never give up! I've gotten discount rates twice less than a week before the trip -- one of the times was Memorial Day weekend.

Besides the golf tournament, October is a major WDW time for the British.

For the record, the only time we've ever paid full price at WDW was October 2000.

There is supposed to be a large computer convention Oct 17 to 21. Those dates were blacked out on the e-mail discount.
