I just managed to get flights from Hartford, CT to Orlando for $140.50 a head! I was doing a dance. Found these rates on Travelocity. I have been moping over not having purchased tickets a few months back when rates for at $160.00 and then went up to 230.00+. The rates at 140.00 have us leaving the airport at 3:23 pm. I would have liked to have left a little earlier, but at least now I won't feel so rushed. It's just me going with my one and three year old. Anyone know how late you can stay on ship?

We're going to use our savings to pay for a two-night stay at the Hyatt. Yeah, that was the other thing. These rates were only good if we flew out TWO days before cruise time, but not a biggie. Our flight arrives at 7:30 pm, so that day is pretty much gone anyway. And on Saturday, some very good friends are going to come and spend the day with us.

I'm getting very excited! Can you tell!

Very cool! :) I was excited when I found round-trip air for $200 per person from LAX to MCO last week, it had been about twice that for the longest time. I understand the happy dance! :sunny:

I booked 3 of us back in March. We're flying day after turkey day (spending turkey day at the airport hotel) 730am, delta out of TF Green - cost us $168 per ticket.
Spending the night before cruise at the Radisson. Used the code and got the room for $59

You can't stay on the ship when it returns to port. Once it clears customs it's time for everyone to disembark. Usually 8 - 8:15.

The absolute latest they will let you stay on is 9:00 am and that is pushing it. We have always had late seating so we had late breakfast and we were always off by 9:00.

I just booked Newark to Orlando, direct flight on Continental for the end of the month at $145 R/T. Last week it was pricing at well over $200. I saw it on Expedia then went and booked it at Continentals site and got extra One Pass miles!!!!!

imgoingtodisney- where is TF Green? Never heard of it. $168.00 is a fabulous deal too! I would have been perfectly content even just staying at the LaQuinta or something (with free shuttle service), but we're going without my husband and I'm just trying to make things as easy as possible for myself. Of course, when I'm chasing my little ones around the airport for hours, I'll be wishing I had just spent the extra couple of hundred for a 12:00 departure from Orlando.

So I now understand that I have to leave ship early, but what is the average time for arriving at airport via DCL transportation?

TF Green is the airport in Providence, RI.

It takes less than an hour to get from the port back to the Orlando airport. So, even if you get off the ship close to 9:00am, you'll be at the airport around 10:00am.

If you have a late flight, you might want to consider getting a "day room" at the airport Hyatt. We did that at the beginning of Sept. when we had a later flight home. The cost was $60, plus tax and we spent a very comfortable day lounging in/around the pool and brought lunch back to the room from the airport food court. Much more comfortable than sitting in the airport all day.

With all that time on your hands, you may want to consider getting a rental car from Avis near the Port to give yourself more control over your day. You could take the kids to the beach, or a nice park, let 'em run for awhile, and make your flight a little easier to handle! The car will cost you much, much less than DCL transfers, and even with the kids, should not be difficult for you to manage getting since they have the shuttle van and you won't be in a big hurry.

imgoingtodisney - are you planning to have Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel at the airport? Or are you going to drive down after the festivities? (I see you live in Central Mass. so not all that far from Providence.) I do know a few nice restaurants in the Prov. area if you are interested. We stayed at the airport hotel once before a 6 am flight (I live in So. NH), and the restaurant was not stellar.
