Here are a handful of the latest experiments from the journey of learning the new gear (Canon 60D). This weekend Bellingrath Gardens had planned to have a Hot Air Balloon launching to spice up their Trick or Treating party, but the wind was too high to permit a launch. Fortunately one of the balloon pilots was game enough to have a 'Glowing' - so just pretend that the balloon is in the sky.
I am enjoying the combination of an f2.8 lens and a camera that allows you to use it in any fashion you want. At first I was basically taking pictures in the
dark. Then I was learning how to balance the light INSIDE the balloon against the light OUTSIDE the balloon.
All photos were with the 17-55mm f2.8 IS at f2.8 or 3.2 with a shutter of 1/25th (ISO 3200).
It's ALIVE!

It looks like the balloon was startled by the flash from the nearby burner.

Standing Tall.

The sky was nice and dark at this point.
