and I am not excited. So, I am calling on DVC'ers to help me get some excitement.

What's killing it for me is, that I need to go during Easter week and I am not looking forward to the crowds or the point increase for that week. Also, the whole magic+ bands have me a little worried that I won't be able to enjoy my trip like I use to. We have 10 day hopper, no exp, plus tickets. How does Disney plan on dealing with people like me with that kind of ticket?

Please help me get my excitement back.

Guess you have to go during Easter b/c of kids?? Think you need a "us" splurge - just one thing so you don't feel :(. What would you like to do - date night? spa day? Special eatery? FYI we accidentally went during Easter week 2 years ago and, frankly, not that bad crowd-wise. Heck, we got to do Toy Story Mania which we didn't get to do the last 2 visits.

Frankly the whole ticket thing :confused3 I'm not wowed with adding to my 'jewelry'. We have APs that aren't on the bracelet thing so frankly I'm not even going to try for them. I figure when we renew will be 'stuck' with the bracelets so I wouldn't worry about your tickets.

Do you already have a My Disney Experience account? If not you will need to go to the WDW website and create one. Create profiles for each of the people in your family/group. Then you simply link the tickets you have to each person's profile. You will also want to link your DVC resort reservation as well. Go to My Reservations and follow the prompts for each section.

About 60 days before check in you will be able to customize magic bands and make FP+ selections. You will also be able to do on line check in at that time. You will be able to make FP+ selections for up to the number of days you have left on your passes.

Your bands will be shipped before you arrive and you will just bring them with you. They will act as room key, room charge, park ticket and FP+ ticket. You just scan the band at the turnstiles, registers, room door and FP+ return point.

I know there is a lot to learn, but it really is an easy system. They are currently working out some glitches but by the time you go things should be running well.

(Try to) Have fun planning!

We have the same kind of tickets as you and just added them to our Magic Bands with no issues (although we did have the old Tyvek tickets changed over to RFID cards this past August, so that may have helped.) So I don't think you have anything to worry about as far as that is concerned.

As far as the crowds go, I think your best bet is to go to the parks early and enjoy relaxing afternoons at your resort. We usually visit in the summer and this is generally a good strategy. One of the reasons we bought the NE tickets is so we don't feel compelled to "get our money's worth" out of an AP. We stayed in a Treehouse for 8 days in August, and only visited 2 theme parks (MK one day and Epcot another.) We spent the rest of the time checking out the various pools, visiting Downtown Disney, and really enjoying our villa. We also checked out both waterparks and went miniature golfing for the first time. There are so many things to do around WDW that don't involve the theme parks, maybe this is a trip for you to explore outside them?

Thanks guys!!! I do like the 'idea' of the Magic+ Bands. It is just the work involved setting them up. My DD 10, still has days left over on her child's ticket. Will that be a problem now that she is not a 'child' in Disney's eyes?

I also like the suggestion of visiting a water park this year. My kids have just started to get into them. So that will be something new.

The idea of treating ourselves is a good too. Maybe a kid's club for the kids and a spa night for me and DH... Maybe LaNuba....

Thanks for the ideas!!!! Keep them coming. I think I may feel the tingle of excitement starting. :)

Just make the reservation and ADRs when it's time.

Don't do anything with the magic bands or My Disney Experience until mid-January. By then a whole lot of the software & process bugs will have been worked out. We're going the first part of April and that is my plan for that trip.

Don't worry about getting excited - that will come!
