that is what i love about disney - it doesn't matter how old you are - the cast members don't make a big deal out of you wanting to go to disney and have pix with the characters. they don't give it a second thought.

i know that this may seem like a random thread but i had tickets yesterday to go to santaland - an exhibition in london.

anyway i took my 15 year old brother along - he didn't want to be there but i had press tickets.

and the assistants kept asking him his age and making a big deal out of it that he was queing up to see santa (he could have killed me - it was only because i wanted to meet him!)

why do people other than disney have to make a big deal out of something if you are older than others?

i should have spoke up and said that i was press and told them to go away - talk about make my brother feel stupid and self conscious.

sorry about this random rant!

In many ways I think your brother was *Too Young* to line up for Santa.
That is: he was too young to truly appreciate what this kind of thing does for the "Young at Heart". I was in my late 30's before I met Tigger. I still talk about how wonderful that first meeting was. In a way, I felt silly, but I was also so excited I almost had a tear in my eye. Very Memorable !

That's a shame. You should be able to have fun regardless of your age. I actually find that I have a lot more fun now that I am older. People tend to be more uptight when they are younger. They are too busy worrying about what others might think. I'm now 53 years old and I really don't care what others think. As long as I am not being obnoxious or bothering anyone else, I do what I feel like doing. I have a great time. I do tend to embarrass my 17 year old DD on occasion. She was more fun before she got old enough to worry about what others think.

See my Tag line...

So true! Last year me and my friend went to disney and got pictures with tons of characters. Yep, we were both 21 years old and NO ONE seemed to think it was weird.

Nor does anyone find it strange that thousands of grown men and women walk around with mouse ears, duck bills, Goofy ears, etc. But if you walked down the street at home wearing those, you'd get some funny stares. Just part of why we all love Disney so much.

I have to agree that age does not seem to matter to Disney. I am 57 and last year I was greated just a much in the character diners as was any child and got as much enjoyment out of it as most kids. This is one of the prime reasons I keep returning to Disney is so that I can remain "young at hear" for the rest of my life.

That is why I love it so much!!! Everyone laughs at us at home. . ."you're going to Disney again?" "She is just a little u" My DD 2 loves Disney just as much!! One of the great things that I get to have in common with my children!!! Because we are all children when we walk down main street!!!!

That is a big reason why I love Disney. With all the stresses of regular life it is nice to go somewhere where it is completely acceptable to *act* like a kid. I love Winnie the Pooh and we had such a great time at the Crystal Palace on our last trip. Me and Dh went to Disney the last two years and I'm trying to convince him that we should buy into DVC so we can take our kids there every year :)

Of course with this first one on the way I don't think we'll be able to afford it for a while; which is fine!
