First Chick Hearn, then Josh Ryan Evans, and now this: :(

SAD DAY: Actor Matthew Thomas Robinson Jr., best known as the actor who portrated the character of Gordon on Sesame Street and the writer and co-producer of The Cosby Show, died in his sleep in Los Angeles after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Such a sad day.

:(

I believe he was also the father of Holly Robinson-Peete, from 21 Jump Street & For Your Love.

Gordon? Oh no.....:(

I love Gordon. :(

Josh Ryan Evans played the part of Timmy the doll on Passions. He was also in the Grinch Who Stole Christmas and on The Practice. He's an actor who is only a little over 3 feet tall. He was 20 years old and died while undergoing a heart test. Ironically, his character "died" on Passions yesterday and he died unexpectedly today. They said the writers planned to bring him back on Passions (soap characters never really die) after giving him some time off. They will now cut his character out of all shows that have been pre-taped.

Now the guy in the picture was Gordon as recently as 3-4 years ago, when my kids watched (DS does NOT care about Sesame St. at all). Was there another one? They keep saying the "original" Gordon.

I think the picture JTB posted is of the original Gordon. How sad, I still enjoy Sesame Street with my two year old.

Muppet expert to the rescue. There have actually been 3 Gordens, but the first two didn't stay very long. The current Gorden has been on the show since the 70s. His name is Roscoe and is the one in JTB's picture. Mathew Robinson is the original Gorden, I think. The one most of us are familiar with is still with us!
