Only 12 carbs... not the end of the world. I only ate one and shared the other one! But then - oh, no - someone walked by with Krispy Kremes. My absolute favorite. 22 carbs!! I had to get out of the office for a bit. On the way out - oh, no again - chocolate covered strawberries? Oh (insert swear word of choice)! I ran to my car, eating the strawberry of course.

Came here for support - it's barely lunchtime!

We all have days that are hard and I am sorry that today is yours!

I can tell you what I would do - do not dwell on the morning! Do not say because you had a bad morning it has to be a bad day. Oh well, the morning sweets were not in the game plan but forget about it and move on. My worse downfall was that when I had a bad morning I would just keep going and eat the day away. I have now just decided that everyone has moments of weakness and I had better just clean up my act for the rest of the day.

I am sending you will power to make it thru the rest of the day!:D

Good luck!
Jen

Audrey, Don't beat yourself up. It's not fair that all those temptations were dangling right in front of you.

You did well by sharing the pb cup. Just pick yourself back up, brush yourself off & eat better today.

I know you can do it. :)

Audrey, I'm sorry I didn't see this yesterday. I have lots of good excuses but the truth is that I just wasn't around much.

Okay, yesterday is over. Can't change it. Feeling guilty about it is a waste of your precious life. So, take the lesson and run.

The lesson is....have a plan, always have a plan. Get some of the sugar free chocolate and keep it in your desk--Baskin Robbins makes some yummy sugar free hard candies--put some of them in your desk, too. Send me a plane ticket and fly me to AZ, I'll protect you from those mean old Krispy Kremes (I was going to put a winkie smilie here, but I'm not sure I'm teasing--AZ is my favorite state in the entire country, second only to TX).

Did you know that you can make your own low carb chocolate covered strawberries? Our own Kelsie told me about this. Melt a sf chocolate bar and dip the strawberries in it, put them on waxed paper long enough for the chocolate to harden then yummy, yum, yum.

There are no Atkins friendly Krispy Kremes but Carbolite makes a really tasty shortbread cookie 2.7 grams for a pretty good sized cookie. You can get them at Walgreens. Get some and keep them in your desk.

I'm bossy aren't I? Remember if you fail to plan then you plan to fail :)

Two things:

1. How is our Austin doing?
2. I'm going to be in Phoenix in October, what are the hopes for a little meet?

temptation is tough, isn't it? and those krisy kremes are a killer!

that's my hardest part right now. i'm on week 1 of induction. all's i can say is that sugar free jello and reddi-whip have been my lifesaver!

i have actually discovered that if you put the chocolate reddi-whip on strawberry SF jello, it tastes like chocolate covered strawberries! well, at least i think it does anyway...

you'll do better today!!

I think you did well under the circumstances. It could have been worse.........you could have ate the Krispy Kreme. You shared the Reeses, and the chocolate covered strawberry had minimal chocolate on it. At least the fiber in the fruit will help.

I agree about planning. My drawer at work is loaded with "point" friendly stuff. This way If I am tempted and can't shake it, I can still have something.

At least today is a new day, whatever you ate yesterday is in the PAST!

Melanie

Oh my goodness!

Here is some CARB FREE pixie dust!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It's the special kind that keeps your mouth shut when those tempting high carb items are around. It's also the "reset" kind of pixie dust, which will RESET your determination and motivation to START OVER right now! :)

Ha! You guys make me laugh! What great advice, too!

I heard that there is a low carb mall near here so I am going to go find myself some good treats to keep in my desk. That is a great idea - these women in my office are forever dieting but they always have so much bad food around

Kath, I would love to see you in Oct. We will be at WDW from the 15th to the 22nd, but if you come before or after let's definitely get together. It would be great to have you fly out here NOW but I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I'm wondering what I'm doing here now! I know the temp is getting dangerously close to 115, the humidity is on the rise, and our entire state is literally bursting into flames. My Grandma always said this place was only meant for snakes and scorpions...

Austin is doing well - his kidney function has greatly improved and he should be off all his blood pressure meds in a week or two. The next step is to see the orthopedic surgeon the first week in August to figure out what the spot on his knee was.

Oh, and um... Melanie, I did eat the Krispy Kreme! :o But - I was very good the rest of the day. I took Jen's advice and cleaned up my act and salvaged the day.

What's a sf chocolate bar? I think I want one right now...
