Afternoon all!

As some of you know DW lost her granddad last sunday (funeral is monday).

To add to this, my boss pulled me aside friday morning and told me in no uncertain terms i'm too expensive, so goodbye. Gee, thanks for that right before christmas and just after a family loss. Donkeydoodles.

On the plus side, I didn't particularly enjoy the job much since the company was taken over at the beginning of the year and i ended up with one of those bosses who changes their minds every five minutes. Just pretty inconvenient timing. :headache:

On a related topic, i know of a recently out-of-work web designer/developer if anyone needs a website doing. Competetive rates and quick turnaround due to it being a quiet time. Coincidence, huh? ;)
(sorry for the blatant self-advertising Sue, couldn't resist putting in a quick plug while i was on the topic)

*sigh*

I'm not too down about it all, one door closes another opens etc, so looking forward to the future and investigating the many possibilities it brings (in January, really can't be ar- umm bothered till then). :goodvibes

No, but I am tempted to have a word with the ghost of Jacob Marley anyway. :scared1: :rotfl:

Ooh you must get to see the Scrooge Musical currently in Manchester (Birmingham in Jan) starring Shane Richie - seen it twice (once in southampton last week, once in london in 2005 with Tommy Steele), very good!!! popcorn::

Talk about a bad week :headache: Good luck in the job search :wizard:

Aww Barry:hug: What a dreadful time your having right now, but as you said, as one door closes another one opens and Im sure it will for you really soon. Best wishes and Im sorry to hear this:hug:

 What a nightmare

My first boss welcomed me on the Wednesday at the staff Christmas Do and told me on the Friday (Christmas Eve) that there probably wouldn't be a job for me in the new year. My letter of notice was waiting when I got home after Christmas! It turns out it was the start of better times (and jobs) for me and I hope the same will be true for you :goodvibes

What rotten timing Barry. Hopefully something bigger and better is waiting for you in the New Year.

What a terrible week for you, but well done on your positive attitude - I hope you find something else really soon (after a Christmas holiday of course! ;) )
