It ain't easy being green...

Or painting with lime green either. My dd Jenn (dancergirl ) decided that she wanted her room to be lime green so dh and I set out to make that happen. She has been very patient with us and waited in line for her turn to get a paint job for a while now. First coat.... yuck didn't cover a thing and the dummy at the paint store gave us oil based primer (Kilz 2). It stinks too! Now we have to get a latex primer to go over the stupid oil. Second coat... well thats better. Third coat using a different paint (Olympic) YEAHHHH!! Finally looks great! Now if someone would come do my kitchen and hall bath I'd be finished with painting for a couple of years.

A tip that we learned.... use those Pledge dry cloths for drip rags. They soaked up the paint quickly.

Kilz is good stuff and you can get it with no odor. You can also paint over it with latex.

Ugghh painting! I can relate....a few months ago I decided to paint our bathroom. I got the paint at Wal-Mart (first mistake) and painted the bathroom dark blue and sponged it in lighter blue. Well I was not pleased at all with the outcome......

So this weekend we started over but with a nice golden yellow and the paint is Home Traditions from Lowes. It makes all the difference in the world to have the better quality paint. It went on so smooth and its going to be just gorgeous when we are done!
