Issues adding Family & Friends to MDE

I've been trying for several days now to add my in-laws MDE Account to ours and it just won't happen. Is it me or is it MDE?
What I've been doing:
Log in to MDE, go to "My Family & Friends List", add a Guest, entered my SILs Name and E-Mail Address. She got the E-Mail as well, but when she tries to accept it, MDE tells her "Problem finalizing your invitation... we are unable to display the name of the friend who sent the invitation"
Meanwhile, my Family and Friends List still sais "invitation pending".
Does this happen because MDE is having issues or am I doing something wrong?
We live overseas, so calling tech support would be an expensive way to solve this!
What we haven't tried yet is to have her invite us, so that's gonna be the next step.

I just did a few quick tests by removing and then re-inviting some of my own MDE friends. I got the same failure message once, but it worked every other time.

So it seems like the backend systems are just flakey and fail quite a bit. You may want to just keep trying.

If your problem really is persistent, there is one scenario that I've run into which could be the cause (but it is rare and probably not your problem):

MDE won't let you add the same person to a reservation twice because it breaks the laws of Disney physics. So if by chance your SIL and email address are already tied to a resort or dining reservation (old forgotten account, or friend you forgot you created perhaps?), the website might be stopping you from adding the same person to another spot on the res and thereby opening a tear in the fabric of time.

I agree that having her invite you is a great plan!
