This is a D@m if you do D@m if you don't situation. The only peaceful way I see out is to encurage a revolution in Iran. I keep seeing reports that the Youths (under 30) in Iran want a more UAE type of lifestyle. Maybe we need to let the CIA work some Voodoo in there.

If that was the plan, Bush should've shut the hell up about Iran being in the "axis of evil". The way to get someone to work with you is not to kick them in the cajones first. YMMV.

Isreal will do whatever they have to do in their own national interest and they won't be asking permission first from anyone regardless of what Faux Noise reports.

To be honest, I don't know enough about the situation - the history - the possibilities - to make such a decision. Calling for an invasion without really understanding what that entails and the possible consequences would be reckless and inappropriate.

Debating whether we (US) should go to war is separate from the OP. I still don't think Israel should be asking permission from the US to use Iraqi airspace. It is not our place to speak for them. Let them go directly to the Iraqi government and they should make that decision. I support Israel, but I do not appreciate them dragging us more into the middle than we already are. This just contributes to the view that we are occupiers if it is considered that we control their airspace to that extent.

He didn't do anything about it. He fulfilled a neo-con fantasy and toppled Saddam Hussein who was not a threat to the US no matter what BS you choose to believe. And Saddam Hussein's fantasies were just that.

Btw, you can BS all you want about mushroom clouds, but the fact is you don't get mushroom clouds from sand. You get them from nuclear weapons and Saddam Hussein neither had them nor was anywhere near having them.

All Bush did was remove Iran's biggest threat and enemy thereby opening up the Middle East to the Iranians.

As a matter of fact, he was so determined to get it, that ISREAL had to do a bombing run in the 80's to destroy IRAQ'S nuclear program. Set them back a douple decades.

So, all you doom and gloom types... don't forget Isreal already successfully completed a similar mission. WE probably should do it in Iran, but the whiny left would be all over the administration about it. Isreal, at least, has the cajones to defend herself.

And, for those that think it's too dangerous for Isreal to do it, would you rather them try and stop it AFTER Iran has the bomb? You think it's dangerous now?!?


Should we go into Darfur? In addition to genocide, Saddam Hussein controlled oil, the lifeblood of the 21st century. He also either directly or indirectly supported terrorism against the US and our allies. He also invaded another country. He also had WMD's and was trying to get them again. He also was in violation of numerous UN regulations (which negated the cease fire from Dessert Storm). I could go on, but I'm afraid it would fall on deaf ears.

Presumably you're going to stop at your local recruiting station tomorrow so you can show everyone how it should be done. I hear Bush could use another 21,000 or so.
