ISO waitlist opinions

Hey all- here is my “conundrum”.

my MIL is booked at boardwalk. We are at Boulder Ridge. She had 2 waitlists in place for the full trip (6 nights)- one at Boulder and one a CCV. We just modified our 6 night reservation from 2 studios for 6 nights to only 4 nights for both studios and pickedup 2 nights in a 2BR at CCV ( or preferred room type thinking about who needs to share sleeping space with who lol)

so, keeping an eye on our ultimate goal of staying in the same resort if not for all then for some of the trip would you-
1. Abandon both the 6 night WL and WL a 2 BR for 2 nights and bowalk and beach?
1. Keep one WL for the 6 night? And make one for the 2 night at the boardwalk?

trip is 11/4-10

My head hurts just trying to figure out who is where and what they have wailisted!

Any 6-night wait list for the dates you listed is very wishful thinking. One or two nights maybe, but 6 doesn't have a big chance of filling now that we are almost 4 months away.

CCV and BRV are extremely popular during the holiday period, which typically begins right after Halloween.

Studios are hard to book at CCV all year-round. 2BR villas at BWV are equally difficult during F&W due to all of them being a studio + 1BR lockoff.

You would have better luck if you both chose to waitlist at the larger resorts (AKV, SSR or OKW). But again, getting 6 complete nights is going to be tough and getting 2 members' waitlists to fill for identical 6 night stays will be unbelievably good luck.

Did you have 2 studios and your MIL and 1? Or are you talking about 2 studios total - one for you and one for you MIL?

If you had 2 yourself that you changed to the 2BR then when you mention waitlisting a 2BR at BWV or BCV it's because your MIL would keep her studio there?

Okay- I think the 6 night is also too lofty if a goal, so I’ll try 2 different 2 night WL.

That would depend. Would the new reservation(s) would take fewer points? If so, you're going to want the waitlist to expire at 31 days so that the extra points do not go into holding.

And if a 31-day waitlist were to fill after your banking deadline and resulted in points being returned, you would probably want to cancel it yourself so that you don't end up with points you cannot use before they expire.
