Reputable breeders do not sell puppies online sight unseen. Period.

Seriously OP - your posts on this thread are so many kinds of NUTZ it is difficult to know where to begin.

You state you don't want any negative opinion, so I will try to keep it in a positive vein. Think long and hard before buying this puppy. A couple of questions for you. How old is the puppy? When we bred dachshunds, we never let them go to their new homes until they were at least 12 weeks old. Also if the pup is coming from a puppy mill, there is no thought given to the purity of the breed. It is not uncommon for mothers to be bred to sons or grandsons. Which leads to the breakdown of the breed. Also there is not thought given to the "faults" of the breed. Think LONG AND HARD!!!!

As another resident of Missouri, please be very carefull. We have a large number of puppy mills. It is very common to hear a story on the news about the humane society rescuing puppies. Please check for rescue groups in your own area before you consider buying a puppy from Missouri. The area around Branson is well known for having puppy mills.

just wanted to say Im sorry, sorry that there are people out there who cant be trusted. I can tell you every person who has sold me a pet online has been reputable! I can end my search my husband and I went today and purchased an interenet puppy. He is great, the owner was lovely and we are now home. Our family is complete. Thanks for your opinions and such!

oh and to those who had asked, my husband doesnt allow me to travel that far alone because of safety of a woman driving alone and I also have health problems that can complicate my driving for long periods of time. Anyhoo our new puppy came from a nice home in the suburbs with a nice yard to run in, I completely understand everyones concerns, but noone thinks twice about adopting kids from china, or africa. I just needed another family member... Nite all

If you're OK with your husband choosing what you are and aren't "allowed" to do then I guess that works for you. It wouldn't work for me. Every family works differently I guess.

But please don't compare buying a dog from a backyard breeder on the internet to adopting children from a foreign nation. That's just warped.

They've turned into a place where people ask random strangers to pick up a dog (that they've bought from a random stranger) and drive it across the country.
