Hi Dis Friends-

I apologize in advance if someone has already started something like this...and for the sheer length of the post! :flower3:

I am in search of local (or close-by) AP holders that would be interested in networking in this thread for those times you want to visit WDW but no one else in your family wants to go with you.

I find myself, on occasion, wanting to go to 'The World' but sometimes neither DH or DD is in the mood to join me. It would be nice if there was a thread of people whom we could PM or email and maybe get together in the park, at the very least, for a nice meal or even just a ride. I have done it solo, and it's ok, but I would like to meet some fellow Dis'ers that feel enjoy Disney as much as I do.

I am somewhat nervous about putting the idea out there; who wants to tell strangers on the internet when and where you're traveling alone :scared: but maybe if we get to know each other as a group, it won't be so scary.

I'm not soliciting for romance, just to be clear. I'm a 35 YO female, married SAHM of one pre-teen girl; will ride anything in the world except Mission Space:Orange, not a picky eater and like to start early in the AM; I do not do overnights for solo trips so just daytripping. I'm willing to park hop, love fast pass, do not object to smokers/drinkers, but do not enjoy rude behavior. I am not a conservative/judgemental (no they AREN'T the same) but I do prefer someone that acts like a responsible adult, and in that vein, only interested in meeting other Dis'ers that are over 18 (sorry!).

I'm not sure how this will work, but at least I figure I'll put it out there. The worst that can happen is...well...nothing! I'm not planning a solo right now but would certainly like to know of other Dis'ers that I could PM or Email on short notice and possibly meet-up in the park sometime.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear from some other solo day-trippers from the DIS...
:wave2:

Hi - I am a local AP and don't think it's strange to seek out others to meet up in the parks. I have happily done that from this and other boards. I am (just over) an hour from WDW, in Spruce Creek Fly-In which is the far southwest corner of Port Orange (west of Daytona Beach).

I will be out of state from next week until 18 April, but after that if you would like to meet in the parks, let me know. My only thing is that I am a non-smoker who does not do well around smokers, but I have successfully done the parks with a few who took their smoke breaks while I did something else.

I ride EVERYTHING (but don't do the water parks), but am not too fond of getting soaking wet on the water rides.

Shari

Hi Shari-
Thanks for responding to my post! I might do a solo trip the first week of April, still working that out, but I'll keep you on my list of people to contact if I do a solo after April 18. I'm sure it will come up, I'm the MOST Disney obsessed one in my house, lol. :upsidedow

I actually don't smoke, I just put that in there in case someone else does. I don't mind wet in the heat of the summer, but I can do without it also. Splash Mtn doesn't bother me but I haven't done Kali River Rapids yet because I didn't want to walk around wet.

Hope to talk to you again soon!
Diana

well I live in another state. but go to WDW alot. going next week in fact and then the last week in April.

but just not sure about renewing my annual pass. Know I will be there in Nov - so it might happen then.

Hey Pat-
Thanks for the post! I will also put you on my 'shoot a pm next time I'm solo' list just in case you're in the area. I was supposed to go next week-end, but the ol' schedule got messed up and I went this past Sunday instead. No more Disney for me until April :( but I hope you have a LOVELY time!

Late April may be a go, though...I'll keep you posted! Maybe Shari could meet up with us even...we'll end up with a gang pirate:

Sounds good to me!

When I am here, I am usually at the parks at least weekly (will be there tomorrow), so after 18 April almost any time will be fine. I hope to meet you sometime soon! :)

What a great idea. I am an annual passholder at Disneyland and go quite often. I am certainly the biggest theme park geek in my circle and it is tough to get people to join along. Now when they need a tour of Disneyland, I am always the first phone call.

I am doing a solo WDW trip 4/30-5/4. I would love to join a local APer to see the resort through their experienced eyes. I have been a couple of times over the past ten years but nothing like my Disneyland visits (which are every couple of weeks). In return, I would love to give a tour of my home park next time you are out in the SoCal area.

Sam

Sam, I think it would be the neatest thing since sliced bread to give a tour, especially since I spend all my time reading DIS, UoG and everything in between - to be able to use it, wow!

My schedule forces my solo trips to be short notice one, so if I see a trip coming I'll shout you out for a meet up.

But thankfully we've got a few already here that are probably experts as well, so maybe someone else will come back and also speak up :thumbsup2

To keep this thread interesting and facilitate getting to know each other, I'll throw out some questions for anyone that wants to play...feel free to ask a question after you answer one if you'd like.

I'll start with...What is your 'must do' at each park every time you visit? Do you have one?

I will be around then if you'd like a guide. :goodvibes

Also, I was born and raised in San Diego and used to spend nearly every weekend at DL, so I would love to hear all about how things are there now. :)

Hi
I live in Daytona Beach and go to WDW solo often because none of my friends share my love of Disney. I have an AP and go often.
I was raised in Anaheim and of course went to Dismeyland all the time. I would love to find a fellow Dis'er to visit the parks with.

Daytona Beach? Cool. Do you know where the SpruceCreek Fly-In is? That's where I live.

I was born and raised in San Diego and used to spend most weekends at Disneyland from childhood through college! Now I go to WDW on average once a week or more. Ooops - Sorry, I forgot I already said that in a previous post on this thread!

Shari

Hi Diana,

How are you? I'm Sam. I am a 34 y/o, single, male, Disney fan. I am in Pompano Beach which is about 3 hrs. from WDW by car. I have a seasonal annual pass. Sometimes I go solo, but usually am meeting friends there who are coming in from out of town. I'd love to meet up with another fellow Disney fan sometime.

Let's see. My must do's are:

MK - Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise
EPCOT - Soarin
MGM - Star Tours
AK - Kilimanjaro Safari

Just like a little bumblebee, going from one flower to the next...

There is a local's meet up forming.

Great thread.

- Splash - Oh that's what the ride is all about. Wouldn't know it from the CA version
- TTA - I miss the people mover.

Epcot
- Spaceship Earth - Adventures Through Inner Space anyone?
- Test Track - I know I drive faster on the freeway but...
- World Showcase

- One Man's Dream exhibit

Animal Kingdom - short list
- Everest
- Safari

FAVORITE of all WDW - The American Adventure

Disneyland - This is tough

Oh yeah DCA

I will be in Orlando April 30 to May 6. As I am a total Disney geek, I have penciled out my itinerary already. Glad to share. Drop me a line.
