My DS10 came home from school today saying that one of the teachers is giving away goldfish, and he asked if he could get a couple.
I told him he could, but under one condition - they have to named after Disney characters.
"Buzz" and "Woody" will be joining our family on Monday.

Is it normal to blackmail your child like that? Yeah, I thought it was....

I didn't have to blackmail my older daughter. She's a Disney nut all on her own. She got 2 new baby pigmy goats which she promptly named Mickey and Minnie.

I was wondering what her name is too, I can't think of any Princesses that are cars....LOL

I don't think it's bad, we have 2 cats, one is Tinkerbell the other is Mouse, as in Minnie Mouse but we dropped the Minnie because she's not little...LOL We have 2 dogs and DBF absolutely forbid us to use Disney names for them so we let him have his way there but we used to have 2 pet rats (we lost them in a house fire) and they were Minnie and Micki, both females. lol We've used our share of Disney names for our pets, I'm sure there are more out there that will be used in our future, we are animal lovers so we have our fair share...oh ya, almost forgot, we also have 2 Clown fish, Nemo and Nemette LOL, we had a yellow Tang that was Bubbles (before the fire), we now have a purple Tang and we call her Violet Bubbles. LOL

The Princesses name is Aurora. As in the Oldsmobile Aurora. He worked for GM. We even have the hood ornament on the fridge! Then there is the Aurora Borrealis. (the Northern Lights)

We had 2 Dalmation Molly fish that my DD named Pongo and Perdie, and it seemed like they gave us 101 little dalmations.

Funny how you say this. Right after Lion King came out we welcomed Simba and Nala the goldfish to our family! LOLOL

They actually turned out to be guppies.....They are kind of an ongoing science project that one of the fourth grade teachers is doing, and of course guppies multiply pretty rapidly (maybe they are a math lesson too? ) and he has ended up with LOTS of guppies. So he allows the students to "buy" a couple of fish with some of the points that they earn in class. 20 points is supposed to buy two fish. As it turned out, the teacher scooped up three fish and so he threw the third one in as a bonus. So now we have Buzz, Woody, and Jessie the Yodeling Fishgirl.

I hope it's actually a Buzz and Woody, not a Buzz and ...Woodrella? You might end up with a Mr. Potato Head, Rex, Hamm, and a whole army of Little Green Men.

It's pretty easy to tell with guppies though, the males are so much prettier!

We have cats named Buzz and Zurg, so yeah, it's perfectly okay.

We have two kitties named Cleo and Oliver and we named our new puppy LibbyLu (store in DTD). But we also have non-Disney members: a dog named Duncan and a kitt named Poppy.

I always name our pets. That is the deal whenever a new animal has been brought into the house. Otherwise, they would all have been named after cars or baseball players!
