Hi,
We are staying at a WDW resort and going to Islands of Adventure on Monday, April 2nd. This is peak season obviously, but since it's a Monday, we were wondering if it might be slightly less crowded than the weekend?

We are primarily going to Harry Potter, with our kids 12 & 9. We may not get there until later in the morning, like 11am, what should be our ride strategy in terms of lines, since we are arriving relatively late? Please list which rides we should get in line for first. Not sure if we can fit the express pass in our budget.

If you have any other recommendations, please advise...thank you!!!

Sam

Monday may be a little less crowded than the weekend but it's not going to be noticeable. Since you arriving later in the day, you should probably wait until later inthe evening to do WWoHP...IOA doesn't close until 11pm that night so you should have plenty of time. Just be prepared for very long lines at every attraction.

What if we plan to spend the latter part of the day at IOA, like afternoon until night, do you think the lines will be slightly better? I guess my question is, what time do lines begin to taper off?

Also, are there some popular rides that are indoor and can, therefore, be enjoyed after dark?
Thank you.

I'm guessing here but I would say...lines should be calming down towards 6pm since a good portion of the early risers have probably had enough for one day...again guessing. You can enjoy any of the attractions day or night. The coasters are really fun after dark.

Harry Potter MIGHT be lower crowds towards the end of the park day, but it is still peak season and you are going to have long waits. The coasters in Harry Potter are generally not as bad for waits as Forbidden Journey and Ollivanders wand shop.SO I would plan on waiting longest for those.

I agree with Metro and RM. It's going to be busy--might be a little less busy in the evening. No real way to tell in advance.

I just noticed on the Universal website that they changed the hours of operation for April 1-4 at IOA and are now closing at 10 PM. Do you know if this is something new or an error on the website? Thanks!

Not sure but park hours can change at any time.
