Island Tower at Polynesian Villas & Bungalows

The pending amendment is for 11,322 Timeshare weeks. Wow. The initial PVB (2014) was for 8262 weeks. Looks like they are declaring quite a bit upfront.

Edit: this isn't accurate, thanks CastAStone for clarifying!

They increased it to 11,118 in April 2015, so this would only add 204 weeks (four units).

Under comments for the 4/1/15 filing it says adding 11,118 in state weeks and updating POS. If you add the 8262 and 111,118 together, doesn’t that come out to what the current PVB has now? The 111,118 is in addition to, not including the 8262. That is how I read it.

This is how I read it as well.
Under the 10/27/2016 they also have

Comment: Amendment A00002 should have added 11118 timeshare periods (218 units @ 51 weeks each).

Yes, the running total is at the top. Today’s entry is pending so the running total won’t update to 30,702 until it is approved.

The original PVB license had 8262 weeks which was 162 units. Then the next had 11118 weeks “added” which they explicitly mentioned 218 units added. That matches PVB total of 380 units (360 studios and 20 bungalows).

Exactly. The math works out perfectly. There are a total of 19380, as stated clearly at the top, which is exactly 8262+11118 added together. The pending has not been added yet as it need to be approved first.

My prediction is there will be 48 1Br and 48 studios

So if we start at 222, subtract 48 lockoff 2br we are down to 174. Now we add in 48 studios and 48 1 brs we land on 270

I hope this is the case. It means there are significantly more dedicated 2BRs than were originally thought based on the blueprint @Jwaire found last September and @aka Charles analyzed here.

Note: we now know the top floors are not GVs, but penthouse 2BRs.

Gotta make some room for the penthouse bedrooms in there! I’m guessing there’s at least 4? 2 TPV, 2 standard?

Wouldn’t those be part of the 174?
Some duo studios.
Possibly some dedicated 1BRs?
Some dedicated studios.
Some dedicated 2BRs (regular and penthouse)
The only think that might be off is if they go with the “family” studio concept which allows a delux studios to connect to a duo studio for parental privacy reasons when the traveling group doesn’t want the full kitchen

That would work for us (or just being able to book confirmed adjoining studios) but 1bed + duo would be perfect— can put our kids in the duo!

Yeah this would be a great option other than not having laundry.

If it’s comparable on points I’d probably just go for the 1 BR to have the option for a W/D. As we fly in, having in room laundry cuts down on what we have to pack and travel with.

This is a great concept and how I've essentially booked an upcoming DL trip anyways. Though in my case my sister in law will be with my nieces in a full studio so I don't really care if we're connecting, but it would be an excellent setup for a family. Sort of a 1.5 Studio. I mean "dedicated" ones could just have a full bed instead of a Murphy in the Duo Studio itself.

I'd mostly be for it because I think it would prove exceptionally popular and DVC would up how many Duo Studios they release for future resorts.

Part of the reason I don't think we've gotten there yet is that the Duo Studios spring from Tower studios, which I feel like conceptually started as making rooms in an oddly shaped tower more than a magnanimous decision on the park of DVD for what guests were after.

Where do the duos fit in then?
The duos would be part of @Hubalorian 174
We don’t know the breakdown for the 174:
  • Some duo studios.
  • Maybe some dedicated 1BRs?
  • Some dedicated studios.
  • Some dedicated 2BRs (regular and penthouse)
  • @Hubalorian also mentioned there may be duo + studio lockoffs in these 174.
48 1BR lockoff
48 studio lockoffs

That 174 + 48 + 48 = 270 (which is the exact number Disney originally announced).
