What season are you looking at for comparison?

Multiplying 21.7 (standard) or 25.8 (lake view) by 7 doesn't give me the weekly rates for any existing seasons, so I'm trying to figure out how to compare this to existing charts.

I do think you ratios are broadly right, albeit those multipliers aren't consistent across all seasons (Lakeview has a much higher premium in season 1 than in other seasons, while bungalows are relatively much cheaper in seasons 6/7).

The biggest question for me, as you point out, is whether they slot the 2BR Penthouses somewhere between a 2BR and Bungalow (the latter already being the most expensive room on property) or whether they discount it somewhat.

On a serious note - Are these boards running super slow on anyone else’s phone or computer?

Definitely have problems with Safari browser on my iPhone. Slow and locks up at time. Seems to come and go over the last month or so. However, Duck Duck Go has no issues, so I suspect the boards software has some Safari compatibility issues.

If we’re all making up point charts here’s mine:
Studio: 10 points /night
1 Bedroom: 13 points / night as it should be based on cash rates
2 Bedroom: 20 points / night
2 Bedroom TPV: 21 points / night plus don’t forget to bring some quarters to operate the mounted binoculars that allow you to actually see the castle
2 Bedroom PH: 400 points / night, you bougie bougies.

Problem I’ve been having is that it makes me reload the page to like or comment half the time. And opening a random ad when I click “like” a quarter of the time.

Don’t worry we’ve got the points charts to look forward to soon! That will keep us speculating for a month or so!

Yes, running super slow for me.

YES! My iPad gets so bogged down on this site.

Yes to very slow website (and sketchy ads).

Ditto, but it's only the Safari browser for me. When I use Duck Duck Go I am not running into the problems. For that reason, I think the software used for the boards has some Safari compatibility issues.

I think it might be the ad server, because WDWMagic uses Xenforo as well and I’m not having issues over there.

That makes a lot of sense. Posts do seem to load and then as the ads fill in, that when I see problems.
Also explains why Duck Duck Go doesn't experience the same thing.

I haven't been having performance problems (Chrome for Mac), but I do find it infuriating that clicking on white space -- or even sometimes on a button -- launches an ad in a new window. I get that they want to make money, but it's a terrible user experience, bordering on dishonest.

Edit: I would like to think it's just a technical glitch, that there is an ad on the page that just isn't rendering in the UI for some reason. But when I hit 'save' on this post, I got a pop-up ad for some apartment complex. I find it hard to imagine how that is not intentional, and if so, it really is duplicitous.

No issue here using Safari on a Mac or iPad.

I’ve been having the same issue on Safari on my iPad Mini. I can’t remember whether it’s happened with Safari on my iPhone 14 Plus or with Chrome on my Windows desktop.

Wait, was there a DVC discount on cash bookings and was it only for yesterday? I tried calling to enquire about room rates for next year and they said there is no discount on the cash. I feel like I'm either imagining things or going crazy.

I think this is a very fair assessment of the point charts. A bit jarring to think the Poly could very well have a higher point chart than WDW’s flagship but I guess VGF is different from the Grand Floridian Hotel. I wonder after the opening dust settles if cash prices will sit just below the Grand’s or will it displace its crown.

If we are going by amenities and desirability, and not by attaching value to some vague "flagship" label, there is no good argument for the new rooms to settle at or below VGF points. I agree that they aren't likely to price these rooms higher than the coveted VGF, but the result is just going to chill the demand for VGF rooms in my opinion.

The new Poly rooms are a better location at a more immersive resort. If we can stay in one of those rooms, and get on and off the monorail before the VGF folks, walk to the TTC to go to EPCOT, and enjoy the whole Poly vibe (while still being able to walk or boat to VGF to get our fill of its ambiance), I'm not sure why we would use the same number or more points to stay at VGF -- unless we were either in love with the Beaches or Courtyard pools or really valued the mile-long walk to MK (which, yes, is still better than no ability to walk).

This does assume that the tower will be 100% part of the rest of the Poly resort and not subject to some restrictions on use of the resort (i.e., Lava pool -- I can't think of anything else that would matter). If tower guests can't use the Lava pool, and the tower pool is just meh, maybe that changes the calculus a little.

I say the same thing when comparing BWV and RIV too. I think they overpriced RIV relative to BWV, but they didn't really have an option because BWV was already long-established at such a value. I bet if they could erase the slate and start fresh with one of those Men in Black memory eraser things, they would price BWV at or above RIV. And I wonder if they'll avoid that same mistake again with Poly/VGF.

To be clear: we love VGF. We stay there often. This isn't meant to disparage VGF. It's just meant to compare the new Poly rooms to the next closest options.

I haven't been in the DVC world for very long so forgive what may be blasphemy but it seems really weird to me that duo studios or tower studios are at all popular. I mean I get that they may be lower points and of course low point rooms are the first to be snapped up. But they are tiny! Seems somewhat incongruous with deluxe accommodations.

I think their popularity stems from just that, their point cost is lower. It's for the couple who is in town for the weekend and wants to be able to return to their hotel room quickly but also spend as much time as possible in the park or the pool and other amenities of a deluxe resort. I wouldn't spend a prolonged amount of time in a room like that for like a week or anything but 2-3 nights as a quick getaway? Sure, why not. I know they're not as good of a deal as standard studios are when scaled up but if it's a brief trip I'd be tempted to save the points.

For us who travel from across the pond every 18 months or so lower points = longer stays. They wouldn’t suit us right now but would be suitable for a single occupant such as my mum who already feels guilty about needing a studio to herself and the points expense that comes with that.
