Some of the best words in the entire DVC vernacular “Wristbands required past this point” … it’s a beautiful day here today … Happy 4th!
They needed to have this in place last night. The images I have seen were horrible.

We actually prefer to go to a waterpark for a break from the parks. We just stayed a week at BCV and didn't bother with the pools. They were extremely crowded especially in the afternoon. Only saw 1 day that the pool was not packed. The quiet pools were mostly wide open. Polynesian Lave Pool is usually very crowded as well. Waterpark add on to the season pass or even the DVC discount is actually a pretty good deal IMO.

There are a few conversations that need to be had regarding safety at this resort.
The cars supposedly blocking the fire lane is a major issue that must be resolved. Even if it means shutting down all reservation for non guests on the 3rd and 4th. Can’t sacrifice safety.

Was this at the Poly beach?

Hoping for a bit more info from anyone, please?

I didn’t pay attention to any beach or pool pictures. The posts I saw indicated cars blocked the fire lane, Dole Whip stand was wrapped heading toward the pool (I could see how far it went but my guess would be an hour wait), Tambu Lounge had a big line (I didn’t pay close attention to distinguish between the line for drinks and line for a table at Tambu. Admittedly, I don’t have a reference for the time the pictures were taken.

The posts with the cars apparently blocking the fire lane is inexcusable. Any fire at the longhouses or GCH could have turned into a disaster.

Disney is usually pretty strict about how many cars can enter the resort. I would imagine that they would tow them pretty quickly if they were blocking the fire lanes. Maybe they were mostly dining reservations that decided to stay for the fireworks.

There was light rain beginning around 7 pm but the lightening just wouldn’t quit so the pools were closed for quite a while. As we know, those pools absorb a lot of people. The infrastructure couldn’t accommodate the people displaced from the pool on top of the day guests coming to see the fireworks.

Someone posted an interesting zoomed in picture of the left portal facing the lagoon. They now have scaffolding going near the ceiling. In the zoomed in picture, it appears there is piping (my thought was metal) on the wall. Pipes seemed to be similar spacing to studs.

Why would there be metal piping on the wall at this stage? Might this be for some heavy Polynesian themed artwork? If it was for any water, that should have shown up in earlier pictures. Curious if others take a look and have ideas?

Thanks! And I agree... Safety first. Always.

Staying at boardwalk and poly soon and added on the water park to parkhoppers for the first time.

How was the transportation from Bwv to the water parks? Was the water park less crowded than the pools at bwv?

Anyone know how the bus transportation from the poly is for the water parks?

Sorry to hijack but it is a PIVOT adjacent topic!

I wonder how many of us were milling around the Poly last night and didn’t even know it 🧐

I kind of wish we were staying at the resort today since the crowd control will be better but we’re doing Epcot tonight. We had a good spot last night (even though there were no chairs left:/) so we were fine but I did get to the beach 2 hrs before fireworks and just stayed there. It did get pretty packed not long after that. The few people I chatted with that were sitting around us (and eavesdropped into their conversations lol) were not staying at the resort 🤷🏼‍♀️ I guess I’d take advantage of that if Disney let me.

Truthfully, I don’t mind people coming to see the fireworks and crowding the beaches, I’d rather Disney put more resources to securing the pools during peak times. I can’t say if there were a ton of non-resort people at the pools but an older couple sitting right next to us while waiting for the fireworks said they used to do that all the time since they were local and could come for the day and stay. I’m sure it’s not something many people do but even an additional 10-15 people can make a difference in an already crowded area.

We stayed at Beach Club, but I think it may be the same or similar bus for both. We drive, so we end up driving to the water parks. I think for Typhoon lagoon you change busses at Disney Springs and for Blizzard Beach you change at Animal Kingdom. I saw a lot of people just take Uber instead of the bus if you want to avoid changing busses.

We usually drive to Typhoon Lagoon so we don't have to deal with changing buses at Disney Springs. We'll be at BWV in Sept without a car for the first time and I plan on using Uber/Lyft instead.

Thank you both. I didn't realize we have to change buses. We have a mobility impared scooter rider so this info is super important.

I was milling around Topolinos watching the fireworks from my window seat at the restaurant last night. I’m at Riviera again tonight but checking in to Poly tomorrow night for my split stay - hope the line for Dole whip has abated by then!
