We're just starting our research, and many of you have been so helpful with suggestions over the years.

We've never gone away for Christmas before, and have decided that it is a must for us this year. We will be leaving Christmas Day and returning January 4th or so. We will be flying out of JFK.

This trip will be total relaxation, with some water activities and tennis (no golf). We own a retail store and the Christmas holiday season just kills us physically, keeps us away from our family and we simply want to pack up and leave town (and not see a single piece of giftwrap for at least a week:laughing:) and reconnect with each other, get some spa treatments and enjoy ourselves and our holiday season as a family.

We will have our kids with us: 21 (maybe - if he's not working or traveling with friends), 16 and 11.

We like upscale resorts and do not care about all-inclusive or not - although, it is nice with the kids because they can do what they want when they want. Good restaurants with fabulous food and wine lists are a must. We love seafood and sushi.

We're looking for something somewhat quiet - especially during the Christmas holiday. We are NOT into a party scene.

Anyone have any suggestions from your own experiences. We're starting our research now - we love Tortolla and Turks as well as St. John. But, we're willing to try anywhere - although not very keen on Dominican or Aruba.

We'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks!

We love, love, love Peter Island on the British Virgin Islands.

Thanks so much! We will look into those today. And, we'll certainly take any other suggestions.

We did Christmas at The Buccaneer resort in St. Croix, USVI two years ago. It was very quiet, and they have excellent tennis facilities and restaurants. Food is pricey at the resort (and everywhere on the island, for that matter). Temperatures were in the mid- to upper-80s the entire time and the kids went scuba diving on Christmas Eve.
