dh (Baldrick - dont ask!) - the love of my life, been together 17 years (since I was 16!) and the only man who will put up with me! He's short, he's stocky, he went grey as soon as we got married, and he's the wonderful father to these 2 ...

ds 4 (Louis - but we call him Blue) - my special boy! my blonde haired, gorgeous first born! Louis is everything any mother would wish for, breaks the girls hearts as he just wants to climb trees and fight in the waves with his mates!

ds 2 (Toby - but we call him Walla) - my baby! a cutie beyond reason! charms and flirts with the ladies and is surrounded by a gaggle of them wherever we go, quieter than older brother in some ways but also enjoys times of hanging from tree limbs or drowning in the riptide!

me (Frosty to my friends and family) - retired due to being a SAHM (my dream job!) and happy as a pig in wotsit watching my boys grow .... I'm short, I'm blonde, I'm very tanned ... and I'm addicted to DIS!

well as the title suggests we are a family of beach bums! We emigrated from the UK to the Caribbean 3 years ago now, with our gorgeous little boys who were at that time 24 months and 9 weeks old, and have been living blissfully happily in the sun on our tiny little island.

when I say tiny - I mean TINY!! exactly 3 miles long by 1.5 miles wide .... you sneeze, you fall off!!

so the thought of WDW to be honest is quite terrifying in many ways! The problem with living as an expat is that you feel the obligation to visit friends and family back in the UK as often as possible so they see the boys, but this is not only damn expensive (8 trips so far between us) but also uses alot of the dh's vacation allowance to do so.

So we bit the bullet and decided we wanted a big vacation this year JUST FOR US! and the US trip was born. We did the UK over christmas, we've had a nice break in Barbados for a week or so and our trip to WDW would complete our pretty nice year.

Another thing to consider .... we have NO SHOPS here on the island, only 3 little stores that have food and drinks, but no clothes or toys or anything like that, so when we travel we have to buy up to a YEARS worth of things for us and the boys. Therefore we have the follwoing schedule and luggage to look forward to:

Sept 28th, 7.15am leave our island
8.20, connection in St Lucia
10.40 connection in San Juan, Puerto Rice
3.30pm arrive Miami :cool1:

check into the Fairmont Turnberry Isle and RELAAAAX
shop for 4 straight days (dh will need a LOT of tylenol)

depart Miami 7am Oct 3rd to drive to WDW
Arrive WDW to check into WL concierge hopefully by noon

10 days at WDW ..... :woohoo: :yay:  :cloud9:  :cool1: :goodvibes :cheer2: and of course some more shopping at the malls

Oct 13th depart WDW
3.50 flight to Bahamas (were originally going to Barbados but has been changed)
stay at Atlantis resort for 7 days - meeting up with our best friends from the UK staying there too

Oct 20th depart Bahamas 06.15
arrive back on our island after connections in Miami, San Juan and St Lucia - home by 6pm!! Into post vaca Depression by 6.02pm!!!!

luggage check - 2 strollers, 2 car seats, 3 large samsonite suitcases, 3 large duffel bags, 3 back packs, 2 sets golf clubs ...... i think thats it.

theres 5 months to go:

I am addicted to DIS, I am obsessed with ALL details of ADR's, rooms, park strategies, naps, parade viewing spots, character sightings, etc etc

dh mutters that I need professional help, get a life, and that he better have something to do when we're there - refuses to get involved

ds 4, and ds 2 - keep saying they're leaving tomorrow, are at the point of almost complete internal combustion with the thought of meeting lightening McQueen, Buzz, Woody, Mickey, Nemo and lots more ..... its great to see their wonder and happiness even as they watch just the WDW DVD.

so - 5 months to go, ADR's done, park touring worked out, resort booked after flapping around and changing it 3 times, and now ...... WE WAIT:mad:
