Is your YouTube TV down?

Our youtube tv has been down since last night. It works on the app but not on the tvs. My father is going to drive me crazy if it doesn't come back soon. We made the switch from cable almost 2 years ago and he wasn't happy then and is not happy with me now.

We use the Roku and it is still down. Looking online it is apparently a nationwide thing. I am in the Northeast.

Have you tried resetting the TV? There’s a better word but having a brain fart right now. Basically, shut it all down and re start.

Some basic troubleshooting...
* Check multiple devices. You've done this and it works on the app, but not on the TV. That means the YTTV servers/service is working.
* Check the problem device... do other Roku channels work? Can you get to the internet?
* If your Roku is a separate device, plug it into another TV. Does it work there? If yes, return to the trouble TV and see if it works (power cycling the Roku in the process).

The trick is to find the common denominator that's causing the problem. That could be YTTV servers, your ISP, your modem, your router, your wifi, your Roku, etc. So take steps to eliminate each one.

It's working fine on my Fire TV. I agree that if the app is working for you, it's not a YTTV problem. Good luck!

I have had issues in the past with the Roku app being down and also issues where I had to reboot the Roku to get it to connect again.

It sounds like you are using the app built into the TV. I would try unplugging the TV and plugging it back in again.

I do see on the YouTubeTV sub reddit that you do not appear to be the only one having issues.

Yep, hasn't been working for me on my LG TV or PC, started yesterday for me.

Thank you for your suggestions. We have tried all of that and still no luck. It did work at one point during the middle of the night as my 18 year old said he was on it so I will wait it out. It's my 79 year old father who is driving me nuts about it. Has to watch his news shows. I showed him how to use another source so I am ok for now.

I don't have YTTV but I do have YouTube Red... I know of one temporary workaround which may work depending on what your system allows. My TV can connect with my phone and play YouTube on the TV over Wifi, without having to use the YT app on the TV menu. This page has specific instructions for connecting YTTV to a TV from your phone/tablet, or even through game consoles.
