Is your silverware drawer segregated?

Separate but equal is my mantra...except for the compartment at the rear of the drawer insert where the hoi poloi live. :)

I have a silverware tray that has compartments for the different pieces. I am a stickler about putting the silverware in its appropriate compartment.

For example, small forks in first compartment, them large forks, then small spoons, then large spoons, then knives.

This is me exactly, why the heck else would there be 5 compartments? :) Plus I've seen wayyyy too many scary movies where someone is fumbling to find the right utensil to defend themselves with, so I like to keep everything organized! :rotfl:

Yes mine our segregated and I can't imagine throwing them in just nilly willy. But then again I am the same person that insists making the bed and the top sheet has to be on the right way. The topsheet must be on right side up or otherwise I can not sleep. Seriously I think I might be anal. hahaha

That is one thing in my house that is actually organized...
And when dd was little, she wrote inside each slot so we would know what goes where...but she wrote "sponns" instead of "spoons" and we tease her to this very day about that!!! :rotfl:

Wow, OP, I've never heard of anyone just throwing their silverware in the drawer without compartments. That would drive me crazy, and I would have to buy them silverware trays for Christmas.

My everyday silver is in one drawer, two trays, with one pattern in each tray, fully separated by utensil. Then my good silver in is two separate chests, two patterns.

I am the queen of organization. My silverware is segregted. My towels are organized. The worst is my DVD collection. They are in alphabetical order by title. :scared1: DD tends to mess them up. It drives me crazy when I have to reorganize them! :rolleyes1

Ok, I had NO idea that people DIDN'T segregate their silverware!

Silverware sorter here! My linen closet and pantry are very organized too. We have one drawer in the kitchen that drives me crazy with all the extra kitchen stuff that is very hard to organize but I still try. :rotfl:

I confess, my silverware is a jumbled mess in the drawer. I don't even have a sorter compartment thing.:rotfl:

I am sorry Mrs. Darcy but you are being voted off the OCD Sliverware Island.

Unless we can pass the hat and come up with the money to buy and send you an organizer.

You would of course have to take an oath that your silverware would be sorted from now on and you would be subject to random inspections.
:lmao::rotfl:

Ok you all have made me feel like a slob!:lmao: This afternoon I promise to buy an organizer and keep my silverware neat! I'll even take a picture of it and post it here!

I do. Everything has its little place, and disorganization just bugs me. I have one of those silverware organizers, but wish it has more slots; the drawer is not wide enough for a wider one, though.

Can we have a before picture too?;)

I have one the divider things for silverware...I couldn't imagine not sorting my silverware.

I thought everyone uses a drawer sorter for their silverware. If I didn't have a section for each utensil, I would constantly be stacking them to keep them orderly. Yes, I'm a bit OCD.

I didn't know that anyone did any different with their silverware. LOL
I do have an over-abundance of forks and spoons, so when the compartment gets filled, I put both all of the extras in an extra compartment.
Now towels are a different story...

You have described my life. And I constantly ask him if he just doesn't see the like items to put stuff in the same spots, or just doesn't care. And his response is that since you can't see it, it doesn't matter. Uh, no!!

On the silverware thing, it never occurred to me that there are people in the world who don't sort utensils. Seriously? People just throw them in a drawer? I can't even imagine that and, luckily for me, no one I know does that cause it would drive me crazy if I ate at their house and saw a drawer like that. I'd probably organize it when they weren't looking! ;)

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I often walk around the house humming the song from Sesame Street "One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong..."

Yes, it does matter because if you put the mixing bowl in where the frying pan should go, there isn't room to put the frying pan away :thumbsup2.

I gave up on the pantry-NO one puts stuff away right there. I also won't go shopping unless someone has gone through the pantry to make sure we really need more cereal, etc.

sometimes i sort.... soemtimes I just throw them in..... I guess Its the rebel in trying to get out ..lol...:rotfl2:

Yep! Forks go where forks go ... spoons go where spoons go. That's just the way it is. I couldn't imagine trying to push it all around to find a particular piece.

.

Mines organized. I can not fathom digging through a drawer for a fork, ya know? I have my kitchen towels and my pot holders all organized too. I keep my often used utensils in a stainless jug countertop and the rest are in a drawer that gets out of whack sometimes. That drawer is my achilles heel. Once, my MIL looked in it during a holiday meal and shrieked(seemed like a shriek), "It looks like someone just THREW things in here!!!" I calmly told her that her son did it, lol! She never said another word.;)
