Is your name in any songs??

Ba ba ba ba Barbara Ann
Come take my hand

I'm Barbara Anni, but close enough.

My name is Laura and I was named after the old Johnny Mercer song - Laura - from the movie.... you guessed it.... Laura.

Laura is the face in the misty lights
Footsteps that you hear down the hall
The laugh that floats on a summer night
That you can never quite recall

And you see Laura on the train that is passing through
Those eyes how familiar they seem
She gave your very first kiss to you
That was Laura but she's only a dream

The Monkees used to sing "Wake Up Sleepy Jean". Davy could you sing that one JUST to me! Pleeeeeez?

Yup...Quite a few

Gloria by U2
Gloria, in excelces deo Religious song
Gloria by Laura Branigan
Gloria by Van Morrison

I like the U2 version followed by the Van morrison one :)

I try to sing this song.
I try to stand up.
But I can't find my feet.
I try, I try to speak up.
But only in you I'm complete.

Gloria, in Te Domine
Gloria, exultate

Oh lord, loosen my lips?
I try to sing this song.
I try to get in,
But I can't find the door.
The door is open.
You're standing there,
Let me in.

Gloria, Gloria

Oh Lord, if I have anything, anything at all,
I'll give it to you.

Gloria, Gloria

Thanks Maggie for the words to that cool song. I'm not a big Springsteen fan so I guess I missed this cool song.:D

Glo.........right now as I type I'm listening to Laura Branigan's song "Gloria". Love that song!:)

Maggie May is next.....:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Sherry by Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons

Oh Sherrie by Steve Perry

Pennie-Penny Lane, and Pennies from Heaven. Faith-Gotta Have Faith Faith Faith-George Michael.;) Also the newest one is: Penny with a Hole in it!

My father (who always thinks he's pretty funny) always refers to a song on the Three Tenors album called "Core 'ngrato" to which the words are:

Catari, Catari, pecche me dici sti parole amare,
peche me parle e 'o core me turmiente, Catari?

Which he says means:
"Catherine, why do you make me so miserable?"

I think the literal translation is "Why do you speak to torment me?"

"Amy, what you wanna do"
I think I could stay with you for a while, maybe longer..."

Oh please tell me somebody remembers this song

or am I aging myself?

"Amy" by the Pure Prairie League is one of my all time favorite songs!

My song, "Maggie May", is older than yours! :p Or my dad used to sing, "Margie, I'm Always Thinking of You" to me. That's pretty old!

the song "the lion sleeps tonight" I use to sing it "jason lyons sleeps tonight"

There's a song named Shannon about a dog that dies.

Browneyed Girl is close enough to browneyes.;) I did a search one night and I saw that TLC had a song called browneyes but I've never heard it.

Wendy- by the Beach Boys. I tell you, that song it use to drive me crazy in highschool
"Wendy, Wendy what went wrong
Oh so wrong
We went together for so long
I never thought a guy could cry
'Til you made it with another guy
Oh Wendy, Wendy left me alone...."

And then there was another song called "Windy" but my girlfriend use to change the words to make it really silly.

An then there was that other song...."Don't you make my browneyes blue" - I heard that one alot (& it's also another for browneyes too.)

My father loved the song "I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen" Hence how I got my name.

"Amy" by Pure Prairie League. I still need to get a copy of that song.

My name is a 50's (or maybe it's the early 60's) song. The song is Johnny Angel by Shelly Fabres (I'm thinking I spelled that wrong. She was the daughter on the Donna Reed show and Christine on Coach). Mom says it's completely coincidental and if I didn't get the Johnie from my grandma I wouldn't beleive her lol

My mom sings that song to me...obviously my name is Amy :)

My grandfather sings me some song that goes "Once in love with Amy, always in love with Amy." I'll assume it's older than that one.

There's a fairly new punk/emo song by The Get Up Kids called "Don't Hate Me". It goes like this:

"Oh Amy, don't hate me, for running away from you
Oh Amy, don't hate me, cause I'm still in love with you"

Yes, my name is Patti and DH's name is Bill. Both are mentioned in Rod Stewart's "Young Turks". It's kind of cool. :D The lyrics really describe our early days together too.
