Is your luggage nice

It is functional, not fancy and has held up the last several years so that works for me lol

We just recently got new luggage for an upcoming trip. It's Samsonite, but the brand they make specifically for TJ Maxx and Marshall's. Which was fine by us, haha. Much nicer than anything else we've owned, anyway. I've wanted SteamLine luggage for about 7 years now, but that's never going to happen :rotfl:

SO true about the baggage handling. My husband mentioned that when we bought our new suitcase.
I told him that before we take this first trip, we will take time and date verified photographs of our brand new luggage before we check it!
I guess it is still possible to file a claim for excessive undue damage?

And, with spring and summer travel season upon us, there was a story about how much theft there is from luggage, by baggage handlers.
One of the things mentioned is that they might see the possibility of a better take in nicer luggage, and target those bags.
OMG!

My carry-on is very nice. As a freq traveler I wanted something that would stand up to lots of abuse. We have two larger "checked bags" which we use for vacation or on longer trips where I need more than a carry on will allow and they're so/so but functional. You can sure see the wear on them, though. One hard side has a big crack on the corner...good thing the suitcase is about the same color as duct tape!

Good luck trying to get a claim through. Scuffs are considered normal. Wheels, zippers, handles, locks, etc typically are excluded from liability. They would basically need to tear/punch a hole in order to be found liable.

Nope it looks pretty beat up but it all works just fine so I'm not replacing it - especially since anything we'd buy would look terrible again once the airlines touch it.

I used my new luggage for the first time, and it only takes one trip for it to have scuffs on it.

So even if you have the nicest of luggage it's going to take a beating.

depends, at home it looks ok, but on vacation it is B-E-A-U- tiful! (We usually drive tho, so I have a mismatched collection of Vera Bradley travel bags that are bright and colorful)DD has a lime green set that I wish were mine!
You need to go buy some sexy luggage :rolleyes1

Costco sets are at a good price point for durability and disposability. The only issue is that there's likely to be other people with the same pieces. I typically place stickers on mine, or other things to make them stand out from similar luggage. My parents like to tie some sort of fabric to the handles in different colors.

I have a few pieces over 20 years old. They're somewhat beaten up, but still function well. No need to replace them with something that looks nice.

Most is old but works no rips or tears. A few new pieces.

We have 3 nice pieces the rest are slowly getting beaten up.
