Is Wishes Dessert Party worth the money?

We are considering adding on the park hopper option just to go to MK and enjoy the Wishes dessert party. Can you see the parade from the seating area? Do you think it's worth the cost? I'm reading very mixed reviews skewing towards negative. We could save money and just go watch from Poly beach.

It was interesting to try once. But in the end, you had to end up standing by the rail early to get a spot. People starting lining the railing and setting up their tripods as soon as they let us in. I have had better much viewing just sitting elsewhere around the park. The desserts were not to our liking, they were just OK. Nothing to write home about. And there was nothing that our kids would drink, so we did have to bring our own beverages. It is a neat concept but I have to say I do not think it is worth the money. If money is a thought, then I would say save it for something better.

Totally agree with PP. In my opinion it was not worth the money. Maybe we hit it on a bad night, but the desserts were just ok. Nothing spectacular. It wasn't super crowded, but you had to claim your spot by the railing. Personally, we would not pay to do it again.

We didn't think it was worth it either, and we only paid $17.00/adult last summer when it started.

Soggy and warm desserts (and beverages), stifling hot, 1 hour wait to check in, cleared tables way too early, too many cream desserts and crowded at railing.

Won't be doing it again, but glad we tried it ourselves - got some great photos!

Wow, we did it last December but it was on the night of a MVMCP so perhaps that is the difference. There were lots of empty tables. Tons of delicious desserts. We didn't even have to leave our table to see we had a fantastic view and even saw tinkerbelle come right at us. The music is piped in so you can hear everything as well. The pistachio creme brule was the top vote for all four adults in our group.

We really liked it. We actually had a table up front and did not have to line up at the railing. We watched the fireworks from our seats.

This is not a place to watch the parade, though. It's very far off.

I wouldn't get hoppers just to go to it but I think it's nice to do once.

We pondered doing it, and finally decided against it. I just don't see us eating almost 30.00 worth of desserts each...It just seems like too much for me. There are good fireworks spots that can be found. Give me that and an overpriced chocolate chip cookie and I am good to go. :goodvibes.

We just go over to Sleepy Hollow for funnel cakes and then walk to the path near the Tomorrowland bridge, there's a nice cement planter there to sit down on. Pretty good view of the parade but a FANTASTIC view of the fireworks and Tinkerbell. We got there about 45 minutes before the parade started, it wasn't crowded, and people who arrived after we did were very considerate by sitting on the ground in front of those of us who were sitting on the wall. Funnel cakes=snack credit. View=priceless. :)

Thanks to the OP for asking this!
I'm debating now if I should cancel our ressies for this. We are going on Oct. 15th. It's just me and my DD. I paid about $42 for the two of us. We have an ADR at Crystal Palace at 7:30 PM and then we were going to go over to Tomorrowland Terrace to check in at 9:00 PM.

I was so excited to do this last October and was thrilled when I was able to get a reservation on my DD6's actual birthday and I can honestly say it was the worst experience I've ever had at Disney. I will certainly not be doing it again even if it was free!

It seems like this gets just as many good reviews as it does bad. Do a search and you will find many discussions about this exact question.

I would not get a hopper just so you could then pay for the dessert party. That is just too much to spend on it.

We will be trying it out this fall. There are enough good reviews and some great dessert photos to make us want to try it ourselves.

Wow! We just got our reservations yesterday for this and willbe going in early November. It looked amazing, especially for people who love desserts. We were thinking the kids would love it. Is it really a 50/50 thing? Should we keep the ressies?

Thanks everyone for your honest opinion. I absolutely love desserts and was considering this for our next trip. Too many of us this trip. (10)

I guess it one of those love this party or nice party but not worth the money. It may be one of those things you have to try yourself and weight the options on your own experience.

We are trying during the MVMCP this Nov. despite negative reviews and cost. I go on vacation here once a year, and live it up, I think if money is the problem maybe consider not doing it. If it is not then I would try it, everybodys taste are different on what good or not. We do not prefer to sit 1 hour before a parade or fireworks anywhere with my kids so our viewing is whereever we land a few minutes before fireworks start. This year at least I will know they will have plenty of sweets and coloringbooks to keep them busy while we enjoy trying the different desserts and I am hoping it will be a more relaxed time for us.
