Is Whispering Canyon as "active" at breakfast as it is for dinner?

Hi all!

Working on a future trip. Whispering Canyon is a must do (never have!) but I'm wondering- is breakfast as active as dinner? We will probably be staying at WL so I was thinking of going there at breakfast on our break day, but I do want to full Whispering Canyon experience. Is it just as exciting at breakfast? Or is it more toned down?

I've never been for breakfast, but we ate there for lunch this summer and our waiter did absolutely nothing. It was such a let down. The whole restaurant was very mellow. Our experience was nothing like it was last year when we went for dinner.

Geez, we must've hit it on a good day! I do think a lot has to do with your server. Our server was a lot of fun as was the server right next to where we were sitting.

We've done breakfast and lunch and its been pretty quiet both times. Now both reservations were later than "normal" breakfast or lunch time and not in prime time so that could have something to do with it.

This has been my experience as well. we have eaten there 3 times. The first had a new waiter but the others were lively so we tried it again. A bit better but the waitress was very rushed. The last and final time... no buckets for refills...no extra ketchup bottles and when my DD drooped her fork at just the right time the waitress picked it up off the ground and handed it back to her. I even tried to be fun loving and jovial but nothing worked.

The eatery is known for its comic antics with the guests. The breakfast antics have been toned down quite a bit due to complaints from folks with rooms off the lobby atrium who wanted to sleep late, and those that wanted a more sedate breakfast. Amounts of antics are based upon guest and server interaction, although lunch seems the most lively. Even with toned-down antics, the breakfast is well worth the trip

We stayed at WL last August and ate breakfast there 3 times during our stay. Only 1 out of the 3 days was lively. The lively day was on a weekend and the restaurant was pretty full.

That was our experience also. I was so disappointed after telling the kids how much fun this was going to be. The food was pretty good but I wouldn't go there expecting much in the way of entertainment.

whispering canyon is one of my favorites from when the kids where small, and i think we may go again this time with them older for nostalgia reasons!!....as far as i can remember, nothing is as busy as dinner there, but breakfast does have a busy point. It doesnt seem to rival dinner however

I agree! I feel like you you don't like the atmosphere stay/eat somewhere else! Plenty of quiet Deluxe resorts and places to eat!

That's sad we have had way more fun at Breakfast. For it would be Breakfast, dinner than lunch as far as the Antics.

Our last breakfast at Whispering Canyon was actually at Artist Point...they were redoing the floors or something in WC proper, and breakfast was in Artist Point, and then they moved back "home" for lunch/dinner.

Even with the weird location and time of our meal (late breakfast, right before switching to lunch...they were trying to get Artist Point set back up and moving Whispering Canyon stuff off the tables), our server was AMAZING and she still tried to make it fun for us. And that's saying something, because there were only a few families in there, and most groups were spread apart.

Make sure your server knows you are ready for a good time, that helps!

Breakfast there is REALLY GOOD, and I definitely suggest the banana bread french toast if it's still on the menu. And if it isn't, stage a protest. It's that good!

As a few others have mentioned, breakfast can seem toned down a bit because of complainy complainers staying upstairs (I understand both sides, but I'm partial to fun over sleep!), but it can still be a good time.

Wishing you luck for a great server!
Have a fun trip and enjoy!

(Wilderness Lodge is my very favorite resort...you should definitely stay there!!)

1) Can't disagree with you.
2) But, many couples (without kiddies) stay in rooms overlooking the 7-floor-hight lobby.
3) This includes the Honeymoon Rooms.
4) These folks DO want their quiet mornings, and at WDW, money talks.

One of our family's favorite WDW memories was at Whispering Canyon when I told the waitress I was "addicted" to Diet Coke. She brought me a jar full of it that must have been at least 3 liters. Not to be outdone I drank the entire thing. She then grabbed my empty jar and yelled out to the entire restaurant "This man just drank this entire container of Diet Coke. If I were you I wouldn't swim next to him in the pool today." We all still laugh about that years later!
