We are staying at the CBR in sept and wanted to know if the walk from CBR to Epcot is possible? If so, how long are we looking at? We have breakfast res at chef mickeys, is it easier to get the bus to Epcot then ride the monorail to chef mickeys? From CBr can we walk to any of the parks?

No walking from CBR to Epcot, really is not do-able.
I suggest taking the bus from CBR to MK, and then walk over to the CR

No its not.It is a main road with no walkways to use and cars speeding by.You can not walk to any parks from CBR.

It is really difficult to walk between resorts and parks because there are no sidewalks (with the exception of those resorts around Seven Seas Lagoon and Crescent Lake). Even though Caribbean Beach is right across the street from Epcot, there is no direct access. You would have to exit through the front of the resort, walk along some really busy roads, and then enter through the International Gateway by Beach Club and Boardwalk. I don't know the length of the walk, but it would be dangerous considering the lack of sidewalks and the incredible traffic.

I don't know what time your Chef Mickey's ADR is, but keep in mind that you will have to get off the Monorail at the TTC and transfer to a different Monorail to the Contemporary. We've done this twice before, but it took 45 minutes one time and an hour another. If we do it again, we will take a taxi. You could take the bus from Epcot to Magic Kingdom and walk the 5 minutes to the Contemporary.

The only resorts that are in walking distance/accessible to Epcot would be the Swan and Dolphin, yacht and beach club and the boardwalk inn.

No walking.

I would take a bus to MK and walk to Contemporary. Easy peasy.

As others have said, you can't walk to Epcot from CBR. You'd be walking along highways virtually with no sidewalks. I think that may also be illegal, plus dangerous with the high speeds and also creepy crawlies that can be in th grass, etc.

From CBR, I would also bus to MK and walk to CR. If you want to do the monorail, I'd still bus to MK and then monorail to CR. The monorail from Epcot would require a transfer at TTC.

Actually, you CAN walk from CBR to Epcot and there is a sidewalk. But you probably wouldn't want to. The sidewalk starts at the corner of Victory Way and Buena Vista Blvd on the north side. There's a crosswalk therd as well. You have to walk across the CBR grass to Victory and Buena Vista, but doabale, cross Buena Vista at the lights and you're on the sidewalk.

The sidewalk runs west along Buena Vista and meets up with the walkway from DHS to Boardwalk. Follow that around Boardwalk to the Epcot International Gateway and voila you are at Epcot. It's a bit of a long haul but yep it can be done.

If you're asking can you walk to any parks because you enjoy walking, just walking around CBR should be plenty of exercise for you.

Have fun.

:)

Keep in mind you will have to use admission to Epcot and the park has to be open. So if it's for a breakfast ADR, you will not get into Epcot until 9:00 unless it's EMH. It seems like a long way when you could easily catch the bus to MK.

Yes, this is true.

However, way back when the walkway between the Epcot resorts and the now Studios opened, we attempted to walk from the Swan to the Studios which is not possible and we didn't know. So, we had to walk up along Buena Vista Drive and over to the Boardwalk side. I'm a city girl and used to city traffic and I was a bit worried even though I was on a sidewalk and it was Disney World.

I walk a LOT at Disney World but this is one I wouldn't do at all.

Actually it is possible to walk from the Swan to DHS using pedestrian paths the entire way. You just have to cross over the bridge from the S/D to BW and pick up the path there. You are correct that you can't do it without some sketchy portions if you start out walking toward DHS on the S/D side of the lake.

are you married to that being an EPCOT day? Why not play around w/ your plans a bit and make it an MK day. So much less stress. :goodvibes

Just take the MK bus and walk over to the CR...less than 10 mins of very easy, pleasant walking.

Totally agree. My point was we had to cross over Buena Vista Drive and didn't realize that. And that was the less than comfortable part. We should have just walked over to the Boardwalk and taken that path. We just thought the path from the Swan went the entire way to the now Studios since it would make sense being on that side of the canal. Much easier and safer to cross over the bridge at the Swan to the Boardwalk and take the entire path. We've never repeated the whole Buena Vista Drive thing because of the traffic.
