Is Wal-Mart open today?

I know they're closed Christmas day...but what about Thanksgiving?

We wanted to get a base for a tree and get a tree this evening...

The Wal-Mart SUPERCENTERS are OPEN ALL DAY, regular hours here, so call yours & ask!
I saw signs at ours & my friend works there & the only day they close the supercenters is Christmas Day.

Yes, that would be the logical thing to do...why didn't I think of that?

Ahh...because we do not have a house phone, and I am sans cell phone...left it at my Mom's.

Don't the tree lots normally carry them as well? We cut ours down and they sell them there. Or, I have actually seen them in the supermarket... probably a bit more expensive but they had them.

around here the small stores are closed, but the major super stores are open.

Maybe check the online ad for a wal-mart in your area it might say if it's open today or not.

Won't a real tree be super dried out in a month? Or is it better to get it now and put it in water rather than have it sit on the lot (or in the truck) for two more weeks without water.

yep. or at least the one around here is open. I had to go there to get a new toilet seat and some milk for my boss at work

A real tree will be fine, we always get ours a few days before Thanksgiving. The secret is to drill a hole in the base of the trunk and then keep it watered EVERY day and filled with "christmas tree food". I throw my tree out the week after Christmas and it still looks lush and alive.

The news here said that K-Mart and some Wal-Marts are open today, along with CompUSA. Most everything else is closed except the convenience stores.

I would get a base from one of the tree stands, but they're more expensive than at a Wal-Mart or K-Mart.

When we moved this summer, the artifical tree we had got crushed and broken beyond repair I felt so horrible about it, as it was a gift!

I went to our Walmart Supercenter this morning....Really deserted and relaxing.... I got some pre-xmas shopping out of the way....

My coworker works PT at our neighborhood WalMart and she had to work today. And this is the first night it is open 24hours!
